This i was talking about. Bd software industry is a joke. Not a single bd IT company even making 50 million usd from exports... billion is far cry.
Only in February, Palak claimed $1.3 billion in IT earnings, and today it has jumped to $1.4 billion. Since every month the IT earnings are rising by about $100 million, there is ample chance that this year-end our great IT sector will be exporting $2 billion worth of services.

Joy BAL party and Joy Bangladesh. No wonder, this little BD has become the laughing stock of even the east Asian countries.

I don't think it is impossible for IT exports to go up by 100 million in 4 months. Unlike GDP figures, export/import figures are easier to verify thanks to paper trail in the banking channel - someone will blow the whistle anonymously if ministers start making up numbers. Also, BBS has no involvement with these figures.

Besides, $5 billion export by 30 million IT workers would be nothing extraordinary.

A couple of illiterate clowns are getting their "two cents" in it seems.

Better they actually focus on their English language skils first as they are barely understandble.

We should not be second guessing what someone actually means on this forum

Anyway let the butt-hurt continue as quasi-dictatorship under AL rule will continue.

Nothing anyone says here will make any difference and all major economic forecasters say that BD will remain the fastest large developing economy till 2035 at least.

There is no banks in BD that has cooperation with Paypal ?

Not at this time, don't think so.

Foreign exchange exit rules by central bank is major impediment.

PayPal does exist, but you can only use PayPal to pay someone IN Bangladesh for services or just to transfer money (XOOM, a subsidiary of PayPal). But not use PayPal to buy something FROM Bangladesh using Bangladesh currency.

However there are other services one can use locally or internationally FROM Bangladesh like Google Pay etc.

Here is BD page in PayPal.

Actually why do we need Paypal by the way ? BD can access Visa and Masterd Card right for any international transaction ?

30 million IT workers! That is a huge number!

That is not a good argument to make. There maybe multiple mid sized firms earning in few million USDs. There would be freelancers- i.e. understand there are many from all the three countries. Then there would be MNCs having captive units in BD.

Unfortunately international cards are expensive to maintain for the commoner here due to fees.
Usage is mostly limited among the upper middle and upper classes.

But we are talking about export of IT services, I think it will be easy to transfer money from US/UK to BD banks just using inter bank services ?

Yes but the process is too slow which discourages clients from hiring Bangladeshi providers. We badly need an instant international payment platform like PayPal.
