Let's be clear. Yes GoP is investigating this leak because it is a breach of the law.

Maybe the sources of his income are legitimate on account of the massive real-estate gifted by the government or perhaps illegitimate which the current or a future government should investigate.

People came to know about Gen Bajwa's assets on account of his "own" tax filings (made public unlawfully thus the government investigation). This money was not parked in some overseas accounts. This data was released by the officer in question to the tax authority.

All BPS-21 civil/military officers should be audited for their assets. This is the only way there will be greater transparency.
