June 28 (Reuters) - Apple Inc is shifting the manufacturing of its new Mac Pro computer to China from the United States as trade tensions between the two nations escalate, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The tech giant has tapped contractor Quanta Computer Inc to manufacture the $6,000 desktop computer and is ramping up production at a factory near Shanghai, the report said https://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-...na-11561728769?mod=searchresults&page=1&pos=1.

Both, Apple and Quanta Computer did not immediately respond to requests for comment. (Reporting by Akanksha Rana in Bengaluru)

Good ... the "trash can" mac pro was really an expensive trash can with extremely limited upgradeability and expansion and very bad thermal performance.
The new mac pro design (grater) is hopefully better than the trash can. And good they realised that nationalism was not helping them and they took right business decision. That also means that the new of Apple moving iPhone production line elsewhere is not true either.

That is true for all Apple products (limited upgradeability)

No, the older Mac Pro used to be quite expandable and upgradable but the current CEO lacks the vision. Professional desktops are designed for performance, expandability and upgradability but the current CEO lacks the vision. He single handedly destroyed MacPro by first neglecting it and then turning it into the trash can and it literally ended up in a trash can.
