I asked a colleague, who is from Fujian, about this. He said it looks like more traditional Chinese, probably a Cantonese speaker (due to the complexity of the writing, possible tone inflections), and by someone who doesn’t know the characters to spell out Xinjiang, hence the “Qi”, someone who is not as familiar with modern China.

His guess is that it is someone from Hong Kong.

I can tell you in definite, as a native Cantonese Speaker, this is not how Cantonese Pronounce Xinjiang

Qi pronounced "奇" (curious) or "氣" (gas) in Cantonese

Xinjiang pronounced in Cantonese as "新疆"

If a Cantonese speaker would have spell it, it will spell somewhere like "sun gang" all of which is too far from either word the mainland Chinese use or Hong Konger use.

If I have to guess, the "Qi" come from the English spelling of the Mongolic word "Ürümqi", which is 乌鲁木齐, which is the capital of XinJiang. If this is the case, the "Cantonese" word would spell "Che" - "齐". Unless you are saying Hong Konger can speak Mongolic Language, we don't say that word that way.

It could be anyone, it could be the Chinese themselves, The people in Xinjiang or people who use Mongolic pronunciation

How do you spot Western sponsored CPC trolls in the Chinese protests?

Oh it's extremely easy to spot a Fake Protestor on the Mainland:-

A. Mainlanders never use the term “CCP” or “CPC”

This is the first thing. Mainlanders don't use CPC or CCP. That is exclusively used by the West to describe the Chinese Communist Party. In China it's described as Zhongguo or Great Party or The Party or Zhongnanhai or Nanhai

So if you see any poster which uses the abbreviation CCP - you can bet your bottom dollar that the Protestors are paid Western shills using Western Texts

B. Mainlanders never address the President of China as “Xi Jingping”

Addressing him as Xi Jingping is a Western thing.

Xi Jingping is addressed as Secretary Xi in the Mainand Cities. Nobody uses the familiar name Jingping. If US protests it's always “President Biden” , If India protests it's always “PM Modi”

Nobody says Joseph Robinette Biden must Resign or Narendra Damodardas Modi must resign.

So if you see any poster which says Xi Jingping - you can bet your bottom dollar its a Western Fake or mainly from Hongkong or Taiwan

C. Mainlanders never demand resignations

No CPC Leader in the History of China has ever resigned. They have either been retired off or died.

Since nobody in the 73 year old History of the Mainland has ever resigned - No Mainlander is stupid enough to ask Party leaders to resign.

Resignation is an unknown alien concept in Chinese Politics

Resignation is something common in Democracies, especially Western Democracies - so it's evident that any poster that calls on Xi Jingping to resign are Western Fakes.

It's the same as Indians protesting and demanding a Military Coup De At. If you see any such posters you know it's definitely Pakistan Sponsored because Coup De Ats are unheard of in India in our 75 year history.

D. The Mandarin Language is different

Now I dont know Mandarin myself but Mainlanders use much richer text even from the School Stage whereas Singapore , US etc use a simplified version of Mandarin.

A Normal Mainlander who is in the 6th Grade writes better Mandarin than some of the High Schoolers learning in a Chinese Learning Center in NY or Los Angeles.

So some basic words can tell you who wrote the Posters.

These Posters in Shanghai for instance look like they were written after consulting Duolingo

No way Mainlanders wrote them.

It would be the equivalent of Tamilians who learnt Hindi in 12th Standard writing Hindi Slogans for UP Farmers Protests

E. The Police in Mainland China never use Guns

Guns are not Standard Issue in Mainland China.

In fact Chinese Authorities loathe Guns and the Average Chinese likes Knives and Hachets as Civilized Weapons used by the Hung Mun Triads.

Chinese Cops, even the Riot Cops use Batons and Shields but they never use Guns.

We Indians are familiar with it. Our Riot Cops use Lathis, Bamboo Shields, Helmets, Tear Gas Cannisters but never do we see guns being discharged. Every Bullet needs to be accounted for.

So based on these Identifier Marks - it's clear that Guangzhou and Urumquai were Authentic Protests whereas Shanghai was absolutely fake and entirely sponsored by the West.
