Aga Khan University Hospital will now provide free training through Tele-ICU service in Sindh

The Sindh government in collaboration with Aga Khan University Hospital will now ensue free training and assistance to medical staff working in the public sector through Tele-ICU service. Through this, the hospital will facilitate healthcare superheroes across the province to treat COVID-19 patients via tele consultation and guidance.




Experts will be available on the portal and will help ensue detailed guidance pertaining to the rampant virus wreaking havoc around the nation. Sindh Health and Population Welfare Minister, Dr Azra Fazal says regarding this:

“We need allies like AKUH to help us tackle the challenge of Covid-19, joining hands with experts in the field will help create a stronger health system that can provide the best quality care to our people in these difficult times.”

The AKUH dean, Dr Adil Haider claims that this is a huge step towards advancement and curbing the pandemic. In this way, the healthcare system will be able to promote knowledge sharing as well as ensue precautionary measures. Haider claims:

“Together, by extending our knowledge and expertise to one another, we can beat Covid-19 in Pakistan,”

Besides consultation and guidance, the Tele-ICU portal will also provide ventilator management which is pertinent whilst dealing with COVID-19 patients. Moreover, advanced training to nurses and technicians will also be given via portal with regards to dealing with critically ill patients and how to maintain their own safety.
