Americans aren't forgetting that Osama was 800 yards away from the Pakistani Military Academy.

You can laugh, but this is something most Americans are aware of and this is a major wedge in Pak-US relations and it's only expanding.
We found him at Abbotabad !

of course that's a possibility, but its not a good one either. if it isnt Pakistani cooperation with the Taliban, it is incompetence. but preception is reality and Pakistan is being isolated politically. the economy basically runs on aid.
Perceptions are not reality, when truth comes out perception changes too and have changed a lot especially since Indian fake news factories are getting caught in droves . Yeah incompetence of US not Pakistan can't fight their own wars and then beg for help and blame others when loose, soar losers. Can't even track where they have spend their money even jeeps full of dollars are taken out of the Afghanistan still can't see, incompetence is US virtue like lying is of Indians.
Pakistan simply can't be isolated can't be ignored, too big, too strong, on crossroads of central Asia, nuclear power and support of 2 super powers behind. Economically finding its feet's and we no longer need aid, we will survive.
Funny when Indians change their names to the American ones to feel more acceptable or think they will become ones. Slave mentality doesn't changes its in there genes, Nicky Hayley tried it unsuccessfully and still Indians don't learn.

They have fought and proven themselves in multiple conflicts since independence. They are pioneers of various tactics and methods of warfare in modern times. I do not think this is an area in which WE can talk them down. Afghanistan wasn't a proving ground for anything but COIN.

They are however upset due to the fact that they were unable to reshape political landscape of Afghanistan even though they spent years trying to do it. Deep down they realize that they did not had many options and Ashraf Ghani proved corrupt beyond measure. Afghan Taliban continued to find support and recruits from within Afghanistan and proved Americans wrong.

Pakistani representation in USA is a lot to be desired unfortunately. Husain Haqqani became a turncoat in particular.

Pakistan itself does not have a coherent narrative for Afghanistan and American mission in Afghanistan. This is something that Maj. Gen. Tariq Khan have also pointed out in his publications.

WE should be asserting how Pakistan helped dismantle Al-Qaeda Network in the region. WE should be asserting that Afghan Taliban are locals and have support. WE should be asserting that decoupling of Afghan Taliban and Al-Qaeda Network is valid consideration, and views of the Afghan Taliban have also shifted. There government should be given a fair chance now. Now let us clean terrorist leftovers.

WE should be asserting that Indians were spoilers in the region - they pitted all against each other.

But our own complain about American mission in Afghanistan. They are crusaders and were out to get us. 9/11 was a conspiracy and blah blah. These are unproductive views and fuel discord.

WE do not know how to make a case for ourselves.

Therefore.

US fight war of interest but our elite / bureaucracy ultimate interest is green card or some personal lucrative favors. It's our fault we don't take advantage from US in the national interest. US is like an elephant in the room.....in Pak politics.

Is there anything new with the USA not happy with Pakistan, I mean after 911 when Pakistan sided with USA, that's when we saw zombie suicide attacks to become norm, Pakistans economy took a big hit, no matter how much you try to please America, they will never acknowledge your kindness.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Tuesday regretted that the United States has not recognised Pakistan’s supportive role during Afghanistan-related developments, saying “no matter what we do. It’s never enough.”
If that is the case, then clearly it is time for a new policy for Pakistan. Doing the same things over and over and expecting different result is insanity, why persist with it?
WE do not know how to make a case for ourselves.
After all this time, don't you think Pakistan should have learnt that, by now?

We should cut all diplomatic relations with the USA. I dont think it possible now but will be soon. The day we can we should do it immetidealy. The USA is the most evil country in the world. Countless wars around the world. Killing innocent people since WW2. Vietnam war, Korean war, Invasion of Afghanistan, Invasion of Iraq, Libya etc...

I for one cannot fathom the morons that is the establishment constantly peddling down the path of appeasement, whilst being choked to death in the process helping the so called ingrate.. they are either too stupid or corrupt.. or perhaps both
Look, it's no point in playing victim and crying like kids. Pakistani establishment, despite it's flaws has done fairly well. It is easy to be critic from outside.

With my own eyes I have seen servants in Islamabad - young men being abused by the lady of the house. One of these servants came from Rawalakot region of AJK. I actually had chat with this young man [this is back in 1989 and he was about my age] as to why he put up with the abuse. His reply? His family was poor and his income went back to the village to feed his elderly parents and unmarried sisters. What appeared to me as 'appeasement' was actual brutal reality of life. He simply had no choice. Had he been in UK the same guy would have been driving around in a kitted up Subaru and acting cocky. But not so in the circumstances he was trapped in.

The fact is in Pakistan most people do not pay taxes, don't bother working hard, don't bother picking up the best education possible, don't bother establisahing global multinationals, don't bother building up global influence. Instead Pakistan is just a near bankrupt state dependant on IMF bailouts. 220 million Pakistan has nothing to offer the world other than Islamic radicals and terrorists. 220 million people export is less than a small city in UK.

The result of this is global powers can do what they want. They can't do it with India which has huge global footprint and influence - positive influence. Exports, IT expertise, Bollywood soft image, Indian food, mulinationals like TATA that own Jaguar etc in UK. Steel companies like Mittal, a diaspora in UK and USA that has reached into the ruling elites of those countries. Take Kamal Harris who is of part Indian extracton, Fareed Zakaria of CNN. In UK Boris's goverenment has at least 4 Indian heritage people in top posts. I could go in.

These are realities that no one can navigate around until the basic issues are resolved. Beggers can't be choosers. End of day the plight of Pakistan lies squarely on the awaam. The establishment merely reflects that reality.
