The 6th death anniversary of prominent philanthropist and humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi was observed on Thursday.

Abdul Sattar Edhi was born on February 28, 1928, in Gujarat before partition of the sub-continent. He started welfare services in Pakistan in 1951.

He established world's largest volunteer ambulance network along with shelters for homeless people, animals and orphanages across the country.

Many international and national awards, including Asian Noble, the Lenin Peace Prize and Nishan-e-Imtiaz were bestowed upon him in recognition of his services for humanity.

Edhi’s foundation has provided relief in Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Iran, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Indonesia and the United States.

He breathed his last on this day in 2016 at the age of 88 in Karachi.

Someone left this girl in the swing of Bilqis Edhi. Bilqis Edhi named him Rabia after his mother. She grew up by cleaning.

She turned out to be very deserving, excellent in education, continues to receive scholarships and opportunities. She obtained a master's degree in cyber security and data privacy law from America.

Did an internship in the New York State Assembly, US Congress and Senate and now a Senior Privacy and Compliance Analyst at Nike.

28 year old Rabia Bibi says, I am proud to be Edhi Baby. For the people who were Bilqis and Abdul Sattar Edhi, they were my grandmother and grandfather.
