It remember me a true history about type 052 : some internal partition walls were not made of steel, but of plywood...
It remember me a true history that people post a lot of sh*t. Post proof that partition walls on any Chinese warship are made of plywood.

This is something that RAND will not tell you.

Notional configurations for reference:

Seawolf class submarines are heavily optimized for ASW and surveillance missions. Sheer size and sophistication of its sonar system fit the bill.

Seawolf class submarines are incredibly quiet even at high tactical speeds by virtue of a revolutionary Pumpjet propulsor (PJP) system among other qualitative factors (classified information in large part).

Seawolf class hull is constructed with HY-100 steel to withstand water pressure at depths exceeding 2000 feet, and these submarines are incredibly rugged as a whole; these submarines are known to function under the thick of ice for extended periods time.
It's pretty amazing Yasen is so quiet even without pump jet. The next gen Khabarovsk should be quieter than Virginia.

I read that in a dedicated publication, at least 10 years ago.
I read that some partition walls were not made of steel, but wood. Not all of course.

You are free to agree or not, but facts are that chinese weapons are mainly not war testing so far. So there is a big doubt about their real efficiency. The case of jet engine is very interesting : despite big money, lot of engineers and stolen drawings their are unable to study and developp a mature jet engine so far.

indeed it is rare

as a matter of fact a photo of a Seawolf is rare let alone the sonar

Good find

China has Type 093 SSN and Type 091 SSN and also a newer version of Type 093A SSN

unfortunately they have never carried out a deep sea patrol in 30 years, lack of experience lack of decent SSN capability and reliability issues
this was almost 6 years ago, lack of experience he says...:omghaha:

Virginia has some tech that the Seawolf does not have, of course its behind in certain areas and smaller for cheaper units, kind of like the F-22 and F-35 comparison in a way. Differences of course because the F-35 was meant for the F-16 replacement. Seawolf was meant to replace the Los Angeles and the Virginia has cheaper version. Now they have made significant improvements.

uh oh !!

Certain hyper nationalists will be triggered by your post
I fail to see why anyone would be triggered by facts

USN firepower, technology, training, tactics and most importantly experience is simply unmatched. Looking at global balance of power, the USN is the supreme unmatched global master of the seas. The next five top naval forces combined would get annihilated by the USN in open waters.

Moreover, they achieved this in a one of the most liberal forms, as a state, not within a definition of freedom only consisting of "living conditions" such feeding and sheltering.
