Its those Afghan slums in Islamabad, those are filled with TTP sleeper cells. Why haven't they neutralized and cleaned them up by now?
Whoever allowed Islamabad to expand like it has --- into slums, traffic congestion, weird sleazy dudes lurking around everywhere --- should pay a heavy price.
Please note that I said

will --- since nobody cares about these fundamental issues. We only know how to kinetically tackle terrorists once they become violent. All the socioeconomic, planning, and psychological issues that provide a fertile ground for their growth hardly ever receive attention. Islamabad has become a dump and people from all over Pakistan come and say, "wow, what a beautiful city!" because they're own shitholes are even worse.
A cloud of mediocrity looms over everything in Pakistan. Leaders pat themselves on the back for successively lowered definitions of what constitutes excellence. It's a sad, scary state of affairs.
It's these people who think the army and governments have been doing a decent job. No, sorry, they haven't --- they just protect their interests and (barely) keep Pakistan afloat. Wow, what an achievement!
