Sorry bro. Just had a baby 2 days ago :D My mom and in laws have also flown in from Pakistan since a couple of weeks for this. Things have been a mess! I really do apologize.
Oh Man!! Buth buth mubarik bro!! This is a great new. I hope both baby and the mother are well. :) Lots of prayers and congratulations again. Everything else can wait. :) This is your second kid?
Thank you very much bro! :D Alhamdulillah, both are good. And nope, it's our first kid. I feel so lost! Still hasn't clicked in my mind. Haha! Thankfully half of Pakistan decided to come here and help us out.
Thats great mate. Baby boy or girl? :) We had our first kid last November, its a blessing. Wait until they pass you a smile or hold your finger and it will all click! :D
Baby boy, I wanted a girl though but Alhamdulillah. Belated congrats on the little one! Haha hope it clicks soon!
Mubarik ho, again. :) We had a baby girl mashallah! :) And dont worry, it will click REAL soon. Let me know when you have some time, i wanted to ask you about accomodation at deosai or any other useful tips if you had.
Well thats it, that what i wanted to ask. Accommodation at deosai plains? Do we absolutely have to carry our sleeping bags and tents or can we find some tents there (or have to rent from Astore?)
Like at Fairy Meadows they have nice cottages and tents but what about Deosai? I heard there is no proper accommodation there and need to arrange our own. What would you suggest we should do?
Nothing at all. Construction isn't really allowed there since it's a protected national park. There were some guys trying to build a couple of hotels there but they were stopped, iirc. So yes bro, camping is the way to go and if you ask me you wouldn't want it any other way. You'll have to rent them before you reach there too, didn't see any rentals available when I went there last time.
Are you planning on driving straight to Astore? I'm guessing you aren't taking the Skardu rout or hitting Gilgit first? I ask because rental tents will be easier to find in Gilgit and Skardu than Astore.
Also, you should definitely hit Rattu as well. It's only a 3hr jeep ride from Astore. You could get a room at Rattu base in the Officer's Mess or book Maharajah Ranjit Singh's summer cottage (through the army) for a couple of nights. Rattu would be gorgeous this time of the year.
This year we wont have so much time, we will be leaving Wednesday Evening and plan to drive straight to Astore, be there by Thursday night.
Friday morning we go to deosai and most probably will have to leave on Saturday afternoon to start our journey back. It will be a quick trip. Rattu wont be possible :(
So about tents, you also confirm that there wont be any accommodation in Deosai and that we will need to rent tents from Astore?
Yup, you'll need tents.
