seriously, the term muhajir has become a mess b/c of AH.
The solution in this stage would be to reclaim our original identity which is Lucknowi, Pashtun, Gujrati, Madrasi-that is our real ethnic group.
Unfortunately we created another identity. Nothing really links me, a Lucknowi to a Madrasi who wears lungi and I wear kurta.
I for example am a Lucknowi or if weak claims are to be counted a pashtun (those pashtuns who migrated from Indian occupied parts did not know pashto and came to karachi thus becoming generally muhajirs)
Our failure to treat our relatives in lucknow as Pakistanis resulted in them becoming Indianized. In 1948 though 90%+ of the UP muslim vote went to AIML (Quaid E Azams party) which vouched for independent Pakistan. So basically we were one.
Where did the diversion occur? It occurred as we began to ask for extra rights (voting for a pro Indian MQM) in Pakistan and treating our relatives in Lucknow as outsiders.
Muslims left there can be an asset to Pakistan. We have to get rid of our ethnic thinking and work for a better Pakistan.
But we are locked like all other ethnic groups in seeking a stronger, better status for ourselves even though we are the richest. This is what I oppose and what I vouch for is the unity of Muslims as Lucknowi and Pakistani are one.
meray bhai,I believe that this ethnic crap must be eliminated in the first place. We all are just Pakistanis and muslims. When a bomb blasts, the foreign news channel does not claim that xx sindhi died or muhajirs. All you can see is just:Blast in karachi,34 died!
Heck, even death does not distinguishes,we all decompose after death except the prophets.
I agree the ethnic mindset should go away except for the culture. For example very few sindhis now know about hur movement, samna and soomrid dynasties while balochs don't know about talpurs and mir chakar. Similar for others.
What we need is balance. That we don't become ethnically polarized bigots but promote the local culture. This has been difficult for muhajirs because of this super imposed fake identity.
That culture thingy is associated with glory. It should be maintained, but this ethnic crap must be eliminated,so that we could increase genetic diversity as well.
Are we really muhajirs or lucknowis or hyderabadis or madrasis? There are many ethnic groups given the name muhajir. This does injustice to our original culture.
Another question arises-we call the punjabis enemies but we can unite with a madrasi as a fellow muhajir? So my point is to rethink ethnic identity itself
Do you know that nature supports a pathan x punjabi (for eg) progeny more than pure punjabi or pathan?
A child from parents of different ethnic background will be more healthier rather than the ''pure line progeny''
I agree. That is why I will not marry from the ethnic group of my birth. I agree this ethnic crap should go in the dustbin except for promotion of each of our unique cultures
I may seem like an ethnic bigot but I am committed to Pakistan and am Pakistani first. It would however be the best thing for me to see my region merged with Pakistan
It would be amazing to see you taking steps in the light of commandments made by Allah, the genetic diversity thingy and experience from surroundings and learning!

Good to know you slav. If you want to further know about my views you can open a thread "Uniting Lucknow with Pakistan". I haven't made such a thread because its trollish
write it as article..about eliminating ethnic differences and promoting unity and I will make it featured :)
I haven't been writing for a while now. When my website will come online again or a new one will be built I will probably write an article on this subject.
So nothing for now. But will let you know if I start writing again. My zaid hamid article was featured here by the way
yes,I have seen it..btw what happened to your website?
you have written ''baadal'' as well.Is it published?
I failed to make a payment to the guy who helped me make the site. Badal encompasses the love and respect I have for pashtun culture and people and my struggle to become like them. It is about the WOT but challenges steorotypes
It is about Taliban atrocities about how pashtuns have suffered because of them and the governments failures. It has taught me a lot as research for it often took days it is fiction
I have written a second novel since badal but it is epic fantasy not even based on real events. None of the 2 are published as yet. Its difficult to publish something, easy to write.
It's really sounds interesting.Do let me know when it will hit stores and I will be the first one to buy:)
Thanks slav. I hope it gets to stores first. Its publishing and prerequisite (finding a literary agent) is a difficult time consuming process.
Inshallah it will,my prayers are with you:)
