Excellent discussion on the FC-1 vs J10. Its very informative. Didnt know about the engine requirements for short takeoff times for interceptors vs multi-role fighters. But one question as to the take off spacing of Mig29s. The engines in these planes breathe air from inlets above the wings and the main lower ones can be closed during takeoff to avoid fod. Flankers dont have such design. Doesnt that help in faster spacing between takeoffs? IAF/Aero Engg background?
