I'm sure my arguments can be characterized as "extremely defensive" simply on the grounds that in this forum I am alone in advocating them and receive little support.
I, who lost grandparents, uncles, aunts, and would-be cousins in the Holocaust, realize every day what Hitler and his followers did. (And I know Jews who were saved from extermination by Muslims as well.)
The Nazi threat has vanished to less than a pinprick today; just a few scatterbrains here and there. The Germans, recognized the crimes done in the name of their nation, have paid restitution to acknowledge the evil and emphasize their rejection of its aims.
On the other hand, many Muslims have seized upon Hitler's activities as a cause they mean to complete. Those who disagree must either depart, knuckle under as most of the population of Swat did under the Taliban or as the Lebanese do under Hezbollah, or take up the banner of hatred themselves. You have seen where that leads: if not to genocide than a destructive nihilism that does no one any good.
