Washington: The Obama Administration's decision to sell eight F-16 fighter jets to Pakistanshould not be a cause of concern for India as the regional security situation was taken into account at the time of sale, the Pentagon said on Tuesday.

"We don't think it should cause concern for India," said Peter Cook, Pentagon Press Secretary.

"We think this is a capability that will help Pakistan in its counterterrorism effort and we think that's in the national security interests of the United States," Cook said responding to questions on India's disappointment over sale of eight F-16s to Pakistan.

The Obama Administration said on February 13 it had decided to sell eight nuclear-capable F-16 fighter jets worth nearly USD 700 million to Pakistan despite mounting opposition from influential lawmakers from both the Republican and Democratic parties.
"This sale always took into account the regional security situation. We look at our relationship with Pakistan and our relationship with India as separate relationships. We think this is important capabilities for the Pakistanis to go after terrorists in that country," Cook said.

India summoned US Ambassador Richard Verma to convey its "displeasure and disappointment" over the decision.

India disagreed with the US' rationale that such arms transfers help Pakistan in combating terrorism and believes the US military aid to Pakistan goes into anti-India activities.

These additional F-16 aircraft will facilitate operations in all-weather, non-daylight environments, provide a self- defence/area suppression capability, and enhance Pakistan's ability to conduct counter-insurgency and counter terrorism operations, the Pentagon had said.

In other words " quit whining India and mind your own business ". The US does not need India, it is India that needs the US ( beggars can't be choosers ).
Sir Modi Govt plays over smart over defense deals engage all and deceive them but in the cheap game they almost lost Russia and USA over fighter jet, they are big player they know how to handle cheap rona dhona...now it is quite clear from USA for India Shut up and lets dance don't interfere in our business.
next few years will be mourning times for our neighbor who acting like a spoiled child Mama give candy to me but not to brother....As i said on different thread they should announce national mourning day and may hire professional mourners called Rudhaaliss...

Once again US confirmed it, but wait and you will find that a Indian will post the refusal :D
They cry out loud on their lord USA feets but no hearing, big actors (states) involved who push USA for sale...

seems like India believes that Hafiz saeed rides these F-16s trolling Indian air space and throwing pies on their faces which is anti India activity through US supplied F-16s.
India said it so makes sense

Sir now it is quite clear world knows their Pakistani obsession as per reports these jets specially acquired for night attacks on militant hideouts but like spoiled child they can't digest it...

Well it was highly in appropriate that the HONORBLE US Ambassador was called up to explain the sovereign decision by the free government of United states of peaceful america
Their cry for already inducted jets totally uncalled and their fashion to dictate USA much irritate them the more the show, probably in future US will snub them more openly.

In simple words, it was like a shut up call. However, our neighbor needs to understand the realities of relations and it is not necessary that whoever has the diplomatic ties with India should be the enemy of Pakistan. This is a free world and an occupier by nature takes it for granted. Rather being concern with own internal issues, seems like India is more interested to interfere into the affairs of others yet having a befitting diplomatic reply that shouldn't have wished for.

How dare you to say that?
Don't you know 21st century belongs to India?
China economy is crippling, India economy is growing at fastest rate, so the future of this world belongs to super power India.......:cheesy:
United States cannot service without India

Indians are deeply mistaken in their approach particularly in foreign relations.
They believe money is every thing...... they believe World needs them, they believe that World will follow their command, they believe Pakistan is isolated and crippled.

So when ever any such incident take place which hit their firm belief, they respond aggressively and instead of finding short comings in their mental approach, they start moral less means ...... like doing baseless criticism, rising objections, putting pressure to sabotage deal etc etc......
