ISI chief secretly meets Musharraf in Dubai: sources

ISLAMABAD: Lt General Ahmed Shuja Pasha, the chief of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), held a secret meeting with former President General (retired) Pervez Musharraf in Dubai advising him not to visit Pakistan, sources told DawnNews on Monday.

“General Pasha, who has remained very close to the former president, held a meeting with him (Musharraf) in Dubai and advised him not to return to the country as the situation is not conducive for his return,” said an insider while requesting anonymity from this correspondent.

The Senate on Monday also passed a resolution demanding the arrest of the former military ruler on his return. Interior Minister Rehman Malik also announced that Musharraf would be arrested the day he landed in Pakistan.

The sources claim that Pasha strictly advised Musharraf to not to return.

It is yet not clear whether the meeting was held on the directions of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party government or if it was a private meeting. However the sources insist that it was a private meeting between the two.

The sources also claim that Pasha enjoys a long history of relations with the former dictator.

In 2008, during the last year of Musharraf as president, Pasha was appointed to the key posting of Director General (DG) of Military Operations Directorate. Later General Kayani, after becoming the chief of Army Staff, promoted him as Lt Gen and appointed him the chief of the ISI.

Currently two important cases against Pervez Musharraf have been registered in Pakistan. An Anti Terrorists Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has already declared Musharraf a proclaimed offender in the Benazir Bhutto murder case. Musharraf was also nominated in Akbar Bugti’s murder case in Balochistan.

The sources also claim that Musharraf, after meeting with the ISI Chief, called a meeting of his party on January 25th for revisiting his decision to return to Pakistan.

Support Musharraf, and oppose the liberal facists like above that would sell our country to India for peanuts and a pat on the back.

I'm Punjabi bro, but 1 quarter Kashmiri. I got love for all my Pakistanis, but IK was sucking up to that joker Karan Thapar too much in that interview. I lost all respect for him, otherwise I was one of his biggest supporters.

Why all sensible and educated people trust Musharraf more than any one else?

While army is integral part of us. They are an assets for this education starved country.

IK is sarrounded by greedy people, who are even more corrupt than Zardari.

Its just that they are longing for their chance.

Musharraf's performance speak louder than any thing.

I challenge whole world history, to quote a single leader who had ever turned around his national economy like Musharraf did.

-Strengthening of Pak rupee from 1:80 to 1:50
-Spending on development, building ports & motorways.
-Boosting private industry
-Good governance
-turning loss oriented institutions to profit
-strengthening defences
- living through 200$/barrel oil hike, earth quake & mukhtaran mai.

Well, since you challenged; Adolf Hitler did more for his country than any Pakistani leader has done for Pakistan. The problems Pakistan faces now are nothing compared to what Germany faced post WW1.

Since Pakistan is already blamed for supporting terrorism (even though NATO supported al-ciada in Libya), now imagine Pakistan gets invaded, its armed forces cut down to a very small size to an extent that they are as good as useless, indian troops are allowed to occupy Punjab, Kashmir is annexed by india, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is given to Afghanistan, Balochistan becomes a independent country, and what is left of Pakistan is forced to pay trillions of dollars for war reparations even though its economy is in shambles, therefore it plunges into immense poverty and the middle class is completely destroyed, now imagine if a close relative of yours had to resort to crime or prostitution in order to make a living in such difficult and humiliating conditions which were imposed on your country and countrymen by foreign powers. And imagine foreign ideologies corrupting and making their minds into the youth of the nation, destroying the ideology and traditions of the nation and its people. Imagine that 1 loaf of bread would cost millions of rupees, that even wheelbarrow loads of money would'nt be enough to buy a loaf of bread. This was the state of Germany, it was so horrible that even words can't describe it, and who turned all of this around? Adolf Hitler, and he did it without even borrowing a single penny from international banks, without even selling a single one of his countrymen, and when a single German was killed by a foreign enemy Hitler didn't just stand by and apologize, he took action, he walked the talk, and not a single Pakistani leader was able to do any of the above.

He did much for his country like building the first highway Autobhan, and the Volkswagen (peoples car), a affordable car for the common German as well as provided jobs to million, by 1938 Germany had a shortage of manpower due to the many jobs available, he took Germany out of the great depression.

Loved this part..

BTW since a resolution is passed regarding his arrest, will be good to see if he walks his talk...
