PA is trying to get closer to the American pattern

I don't know how these little 'tweaks' in the uniform adds any advantage to operational preparedness of army...its not just the field uniform that has become the victim of such changes, the office's uniform of officers have been changed too...these changes might bring them closer to NATO/US forces in appearance, but i doubt it will bring any significant edge in combat.

Thanks to personal decision of Mr.Tanvir, PAF also had to chaneg decades old RAF ranks...now change of colour and cloth is also underway...its being implemented above Air Cdre ranks....watching pictures of soldiers taken few years ago had so many changes then the present.

There is no need to replace the existing examples of past....PA/PAF are not a ceremonial forces who need beauty in outlook, they are the soldiers which need training to fight, and serve in peace.

the problem in our country is....

we dont value the importance of history and traditions.
we love to 'waste' precious resources on projects which really dont improve the fighting capacity of the organizations. people want to leave their 'legacies' behind.
i know former 'ADC's who tell stories about the 'quirks' of our general staff. they are hilarious now but if an ADC is unable to filful the generals 'quirk', his ACR is 'screwed'

wow.......such a waste of money....what was wrong with the good old "khaaki" uniform?
now our army will look like NATO or USA army.....with this uniform change they lose their identity.

It's not change, It's modification in Uniform
another gud way to warm up POCKETS!

Activty is often mistaken for work.

Quite like school kids who compensate the shoddy home work done with a well covered and labelled note book.

it would surprise the reader to know how much time, energy , money & effort goes into infuctous work but then it gets mistaken for work.

One might have observed much of Pakistanies object and oppose America and any thing of it, But looks like eventually they all are very much influenced by them. Even now the uniform. Strange:what: Hope so the color wont change from Jungle print to Snowy one like of US. As this will make them visible from far.;)

Digital Camo will be too costly for Pakistan's taste .

And interestingly alot more will change along with uniform...for eg now if an officer wants to arrest another soldier he wont ask him to hand over his belt...with no ranks on shoulder too, i wonder what will they ask them to handover?

If there is any truth in this comment, iam sure a legal method is followed...for eg. you give tenders to only those persons you want...they'll give you some gifts....its a legal form of 'corruption' (you can call this corruption if you are a very honest man)...every institution whether Govt/non-Govt give priority to their selection...its not a crime, unless you get poor quality material with a lot of price tag.

On a slightly different note, i recall meeting an officer a long time ago, he was one of those who decided to remove a 'button' from soldier's collars...as the tradition of wearing tie in office uniform was abolished..there was no need to put a button in the collar.

This decision saved 150,000Rs.(per year) of PA (it was made somewhere in mid90s)....the point is that army is not corrupt...they have a detailed procedure of everything...audit is done at every step....unfortunately people of our country think otherwise.

Agreed, the audit system is very strict in the army but some tok shok does happen. Each and everything is written down in detail and then at the end of the month, all the expenses are looked at.
