RAWALPINDI: Army chief Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani visited Kurram Agency after the successful completion of Operation Koh-e-Sufaid in the area on Thursday.

According to an ISPR press release, Kayani interacted with the soldiers who participated in the operation at Mandan and Monato, appreciating their efforts.

Security forces claim that all the targets, including making the road of lower and upper Kurram safe from terrorists, were achieved.

He also met the tribal elders and political administration in the area during his visit, lauding their efforts for efficiently managing 13,000 displaced families.

The army had launched an operation in July to restore peace in Kurram Agency by clearing out the area of miscreants and terrorists.

Why not have such an operation for the current situation of Karachi?

Army is never trianed to do operations in big cities i think, and it will cause too much problem to civilians, but the biggest reason is that government is NOT willing to, and ALL political parties are behind this.
