Attacks surge in northwest Pakistan amid Afghan peace effort

Bolstering its bid to re-establish itself in the borderlands, the Pakistan Taliban, or Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), struck an alliance in July with half a dozen small rebel factions. Since March the Pakistan Taliban has unleashed a wave of attacks on Pakistani security forces, killing 40 soldiers. ISPR recently stated that the attacks were "meant to derail (the) Afghanistan Peace Process".

5 Terrorists including imp Commander killed and 10 arrested in Major IBO in NWTD

ISPR stated 5 Terrorists have been killed in an Important IBO by Security Forces in North Waziristan Tribal District while 10 Terrorists are captured as well. Highly wanted Terrorist Commander Wasim was killed during IBO as well. Commander Wasim was involved in more than 30 cases including Martyring CSS Officer.
