Obama has appointed Rahm Israel Emanuel as White House chief of staff. This is the man who will be Obama's gatekeeper, who will arrange his schedule, staff out the agenda, include and exclude items for his attention. Elected to Congress in 2002 from a strongly Democratic Chicago-area seat, Emanuel has risen rapidly through the ranks of the Democratic Caucus. He served as the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2006 and then as the Caucus chairman over the last two years. Emanuel oversaw fundraising during the presidential campaign of Clinton and held several positions in the White House, first as political director, then manager of special legislative efforts, and finally as senior adviser. He earned the reputation of a man who advocates "take-no-prisoners" and an appropriate nickname: "Rambo."

Rahm Israel Emanuel was a supporter of Bush's invasion of Iraq. He rose to prominence in the Democratic Party primarily as a result of his fundraising connections to AIPAC. He comes from a family which has fought in Palestine to establish Israel; his father was a member of Irgun, the Jewish terrorist organisation that used violence to drive the British and Palestinians out of Palestine in order to create the Jewish state. During the 1991 Gulf War, Rahm Israel Emanuel volunteered to serve in the Israel Defence Forces. In an insightful reaction to this appointment, Alexander Cockburn of Counterpunch magazine has called it "the first trumpet blast of change" and "a super-Likudnik hawk." whose father was in the fascist Irgun in the late 1940s, responsible for cold-blooded massacres of Palestinians. Dad's unreconstructed ethnic outlook has been memorably embodied in his recent remark to the Ma'ariv newspaper that "Obviously he [Rahm] will influence the president to be pro-Israel… Why wouldn't he be [influential]? What is he, an Arab? He's not going to clean the floors of the White House."
Is Obama fake?

Emanuel was already very close to Obama not only during his presidential campaign but also through out his time as a politician in Illinois. Emanuel "was" but not "is" an Israeli now and also he can not serve as a congressman in United States.

He is an American citizen now and because someone is a Jew, it doesn't make him an Israeli and because someone is an Israeli doesn't make him a bad person. What matters is what Barack Obama's government does.

Also Chief-of-Staff is an appointment that has not much to do with the government. His job is more like technical one like making sure that President's appointments are properly kept, meetings are properly arranged, microphones are working during President's press conference etc. So in IMO there is not much to worry about his appointment.

Zionist movement which is mainly non-Jewish in United States will put an enormous pressure on Barack Obama to continue to follow the policy of Bush administration towards the Israel. But the problem is that is the policy which has failed and American public have to engage in an argument and need to persuade United States new government that there needs to be a change in the attitude about Palestine question or everything will keep getting worse.
