Haven't seen much coverage of Warrior-2014. Perhaps it was overshadowed by SCO Peace Mission 2014. China certainly can learn some valuable lessons from Pakistan's anti-terror combat experience.

Pakistan, China end 3-week special forces drills near Xinjiang

Pakistan Army chief General Raheel Sharif oversaw the closing ceremony of a three-week anti-terrorist exercise involving army commandos from Pakistan and China on 29 August.

The ceremony was held at the main base of the Pakistan Army's special services group (SSG) in Cherat, north of Islamabad.

A senior Pakistani intelligence official told IHS Jane's that the exercises were mostly held in northern Pakistan close to China's predominantly Muslim Xinjiang region, where Beijing has been waging a campaign against Uighur separatists.

"Historically, China has been Pakistan's close friend and ally. The relationship has been built mostly with China supplying military hardware to Pakistan, especially the air force and the navy," said the intelligence official.
