US to offer F-35 fighters to India

DEMERITS:
A fighter with tiny payload, limited range, non-supermaneuverability, LOTS OF STRINGS ATTACHED and total slowpoke compared to other fighters.

MERITS:

A powerful radar.

No thanks. If this had turned out to be another F-22 Raptor style success in development, we won't have been offered this. Now that it has become JSF project's white elephant with its through-the-roof costs and hopeless short-comings, its being offered.

I think PAKFA/FGFA and AMCA are enough... even for Navy which can simply get the Navalized versions of this in a few short years of the air force version.

Sounds like a good plan
You're obviously clueless and you should refrain from making absurd assertions.

Why are u indian dancing? F-35 is inferior to PAK-FA, why buy F-35 when PAF-FA is near completion? I remember all indians were trying to prove F-35 inferior in PAK-FA thread. Now they are mad, as F-35 is offered.

We are not mad about F-35 or considering it superior to PAK FA (its PAK FA, not PAF FA.......plz spell at least PAK :pakistan: correctly). The reason for Indian joy is that this offer shows our changing reputation and value, which we deserve by all means. They are offering us the technology which they hardly sell to even their good allies. For example; US demanded Japan One Billion Yen for basic information about the F-35 and is only willing to disclose information about the F-35's stealth features after Japan commits to the purchase. They denied to sell J-35 to Taiwan in fear of a critical response from China. But they are offering it to India. Isn't that great; think about it from our viewpoint. :azn: This is also appreciation of our clean past.

They purpose it. Now the ball is in our COURT. Whether it will be chosen or not, only future will tell.:cheesy:

Indians should be beware of US trying to outsource their sino-US conflict. Such a move would result in India falling into shambles and total economic melt down. Also US approving F35 sale is highly doubted because its a project top secret and very few member countries are allowed to share.

Thanks brother for your advice and concern for your neighbours.

Now the question of Indian total economic melt down by buying F-35........No way. We are already eyeing upon some of the most expensive Fighter Planes for our MMRCA competition. F-35, if chosen, will be inducted not before 5-8 years. And by that time, our economy will be even better. Even US know that we can afford it very well. That's why the made this offer.........Simple logic; isn't it?

US Offer of F-35 to India...........This is an Indication of improving image of India at world stage. That's why West is offering their best equipments to us; whether it be Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, JAS Gripen, or F-35.

India is emerging mere dost.

atleast they shown lollypop, not f-16 candy wrappers.original remains original.

who need f35 when we will be getting a more capable PAK-FA..i dont understand the fuzz.. we got the cash and they will offer us stuff. in future may be even a condom with modern avionics.. American are known to destabilize the region by doing this stuff ..remember Iraq Iran war...i say go for more PAK-FA rather than going for F35 .will be less on pocket .

PAK-FA i set to be the worlds best fighter jet to be developed, most expensive..and India will be getting it between 2015-2018,cuz it is being developed rite now.
India has also offered its assistance and technological help to Russia,as both usually do.
F-35 is excellent,but PAK-FA is way better.

P.S-Some people are going to cry..

Russia has not produced anything to match the F-22, B-2 or even F-117...a stealth fighter already years and years retired. No one is going to cry.

India is being intelligent,
Aircrafts from USA,Air crafts from Russia..
Two of the best technologies flooding in its army, unlike China, they persist on developing their own.
"The Sukhoi PAK FA (Russian: Перспективный авиационный комплекс фронтовой авиации, Perspektivny aviatsionny kompleks frontovoy aviatsii, literally "Future Frontline Aircraft System"), is a fifth-generation jet fighter being developed by Sukhoi OKB for the Russian Air Force.

The current prototype is Sukhoi's T-50.[12] The PAK FA when fully developed is intended to replace the MiG-29 Fulcrum and Su-27 Flanker in the Russian inventory and serve as the basis of the Sukhoi/HAL FGFA project being developed with India.[13][14] A fifth generation jet fighter, it is designed to directly compete with Lockheed Martin's F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II. The T-50 performed its first flight January 29, 2010.[3][15] Its second flight was on February 6 and its third on February 12. As of June 17th, it has made 16 flights in total.[16]
______
India has already secured PAK-FA and will be getting F-35,the huge benefit of having good relations is visible..
I see IAF getting stronger in terms of quality compared to Chinese Air Force.

Sometimes I cannot believe the stupidity. No wonder the Russians and the Americans love India, as long as there are idiots like you. Lets see, suppose China and India do not fight a major war for another 20 years (which is a BIG possibility), what are you going to do with these flying junks that didn't even help you develop your own manufacturing industry? Billions of your hard earned Dell call center money just went to the Russians and the Americans that's the only thing you get. Developing our own fighter is more than just military. It contributes to a range of civil aviation, material science, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering expertise which will benefit the quality of life in the long run.

And don't think for a second that India has anything to contribute on the technical side of the PAK FA. If India has enough know how to contribute to a top fighter like that it won't be struggling on an obsolete-before-induction LCA.

American's showed them Lollypop and they start jumping.

huh whaaaat............................how long u have been trying to get ur hands on the F16 block 52.......... and i think u recently got it rite and it is a pretty big talk for u:coffee::coffee:..............
