US drone strike in Khyber kills three suspected militants

PESHAWAR: At least three suspected militants were reportedly killed on Wednesday during a US drone strike in Khyber tribal region at the Pak-Afghan border, official sources claimed.

According to sources, some vehicles of the militants have also been destroyed in the attack.

Sources further said, US drones targeted a militant’s compound and some vehicles of the militant group in n Khyber tribal region's Nazyan area.

There were reports of clashes going on between Afghan Taliban and Lashkar e Islam since a long time.

The last drone attack occurred on December 26, 2013, killing three suspected insurgents.

Reports in the US media have suggested the drone strikes have been temporarily halted since then to provide the Pakistani government a chance to have talks with Taliban aimed at ending their seven-year insurgency.

Drone fires missiles in Pakistan-Afghanistan border area

PESHAWAR: An unmanned aircraft fired missiles in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border area on Wednesday, Express News reported.


The exact location of the attack has not been verified as yet and it is not known if the target was in Pakistan or Afghanistan.


The last drone strike in Pakistan took place on December 26, 2013, killing four people.


In the latest attack, a hideout of a banned militant outfit was targeted.
