The RAF recently took delivery of its sixth GA-ASI MQ-9 Reaper UAV for operations over Afghanistan.
The new UAV arrived at Kandahar airfield aboard an RAF C-17 on September 10, 2010, and joins the five Reapers flown by 39 Squadron over southern Afghanistan since October 2007, logging more than 10,000 hours of operation so far.
RAF Reapers have been armed with AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and GBU-12 Paveway II guided bombs since May 2008.
The addition is part of a program to increase the RAF Reaper fleet to 10 aircraft.
