Turkish President Abdullah Gul says Turkey looks for enhanced cooperation with India during a visit of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul received his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee in the capital city of Ankara on Monday, expressing his hopes towards enhanced cooperation between the two countries.
"Turkey and India have a big potential of cooperation in many fields. We believe this cooperation in the fields of business, investment, finance and commerce will step up in a short period of time," Gul told during a dinner with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee in the capital city of Ankara.
"Enhanced cooperation between the two countries will be for the benefit of not only our country and people but also for the region," Gul added.
For his part, India president pointed out that both countries have developing economies.
"As two developing economies, we aim to benefit from advantages of our closer cooperation. Our developing societies can work together in various sectors," he said.
This is the first official presidential visit to Turkey from India after 15 years.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul had visited India in 2010.
