There were several great Dynasties in the history of India but for most historians who
deal with the history of India the following 10 Dynasties are considered the greatest
in terms of cultural achievements, military success and legacy. Almost every historical
book, which covers the history of India, mentions these 10 Dynasties.
But what do you think? Are the following 10 Dynasties really the greatest Empires in the
history of India or even South Asia?

Maurya Empire (4th-2nd century BC)
Gupta Empire (4th-6th century CE)
Rashtrakuta Empire (8th-10th century)
Pratihara Dynasty (8th-11th century)
Chola Empire (9th-13th century)
Western Chalukya Empire (10th-12th century)
Delhi Sultanate (13th-16th century)
Vijayanagara Empire (14th-17th century)
Mughal Empire (16th-18th century)

The Pala Dynasty was a regional Kingdom and not a major Dynasty.

Yeah right...

These are wrong maps. The Pala Dynasty was the weakest of all the 3 Dynasties
which ruled India from the 8th to 10th century. The Rashtrakuta Empire
was the most powerful Empire in South Asia at that time and the Pratihara Dynasty
was also more powerful than the Pala Dynasty.
