Hello Everybody,
I have compiled a list of measures that if taken would give relief to the countrymen from this devastating electricity shortfall. I have mentioned before but with the reference of this post, I am again asking my countrymen to come ahead and contribute at this time of need.
Everybody talks of problems, no one mentions solutions and its the solution which this Nation needs. For that purpose, a Solution WIKI is established where we can all contribute and give this country a road-map of development that we need desperately. Lets join hands and make happen what our lame politicians and government is unable/incapable to do. Here I am taking an initiative and I am putting some possible ways to conserve electricity and some possible ways to generate new. Please join me at Pakistan Development Road-map and compile a comprehensive solution that if followed, would take country out of this historic electricity shortfall.

is the place where you are all invited to give solution of all types belonging to every filed of life. Using Roadmap application is fairly easy, it is the same application that Wikipedia is using and operating it, adding content to it and administrating it is fairly easy.
If there is a will in you, there is a way - and if you are looking to contribute to the development of yor country by sitting somewhere outside Paksitan, this is the best way you could do.

Following is the list of actions that will immediately reduce the electricity consumption and will give relief to the public.
== Needful Actions ==
* Each shop, regardless of its size and shape will be only able to lit 1 Energy Savor Bulb of 20 Watts for every 10 feet of front opening.
* Each shop can have a certain brightness (intensity of light) inside the shop. If you have visited Bata Stores, you would be surprised to see how bright they are inside and how many lights. Shops like Garments Shops, Beauty Saloons etc are mostly over-lit and by reducing their number of lights and setting a standard for everybody to follow, we can have hundreds of watts. To measure the intensity of light, we can use photodiode and this issue is being discussed over here. []How to measure the Intensity of Light?
* Dis-allow back-lit advertising boards. No shop can use any back-lit boards at all. When they are allowed to lit one lamp outside, that lamp should be placed at a place that will lit their sign-board and give illuminate to the shop entrance.
* All the housing societies can use only 1 light out of 3 they have installed. No exceptions other than the main-enterer where they can use few more.
* Every city must be divided into regions in terms of electricity usage. Areas like Defense Housing Society (Rich of the country) use this National resource carelessly. Every house has 2/5 Air Conditions and a single house will consume electricity that could run 20 fans in 20 homes of the poor. With that in view, load-shedding should be on the basis of usage within a certain area. Let me explain how is that implementable.
Suppose we have 100 units of electricity and there there are 4 areas within a city that consume them. Area A, B, C and D. Area A consumes the least amount of energy, 10 units while Area B consumes the most 40 units while Area C and D consume 25 units each. with this classification of electricity usage, Area A should '''not''' be subjected to load shedding and Area B should be most subjected to that while a balancing load-shedding could be introduced in Areas C and Area D. When regional electricity consumption would incarnate and it will face consequences, its residents will regionally control the mis-usage and will try to use the available electricity as wisely as possible.
* Abandon use of ACs in all the Government Offices, on exceptions whatsoever.
* Disallow night weddings, usage of decorative lights and night-get-togethers. No Exceptions whatsoever.
* Disallow occurrence of festivals, music shows for a period of next 4 months. No need to offer any compensation at all.
* Make rule to shut all the shops everywhere in the country at 10pm - With exception of Medical-Stores and Restaurants that could remain open till mid-night. 24Hours service providers can stay open by paying an extra cost of electricity usage over their bill.
* Abandon use of mercury lights everywhere in the country. All the streetlights that use them must be replaced with energy-saving lights and put all the expanse of doing so upon residents of the City who live there. A small city will have fewer street-lights and thus cost of replacing them will be equally low while large cities like Karachi that have huge number of replaceable lights, being in large number, they can bare the cost.
* Electricity driven entertainment centers including Parks, Cinemas should remain closed for a period of 3 months. Government should give relief of 6 months of tax collection to them.

== Ways to Generate Elecricity ==
* Every Public/Private company with limited status must add a certain %age of electricity to the country. They can utilize Solar, Wind or Thermal (non-gas, non-gasoline, non-petrol) means of producing electricity and offering that to the general public. It should be compulsory and failing to do so should cost them double electricity usage bill than they pay otherwise.
* Encourage and give incentive over use of alternative electricity producing systems including wind and solar energy. A good way to analyze if somebody is using alternative energy system or not would be analysis of monthly electricity bill. If there is 25% reduction in the monthly electricity usage than average months of the year, give 25% waver on the unit cost it consumes. By doing so, even the person who doesn't have alternative electricity generation installed, would tend to get advantage of this service and try to conserve electricity as much as possible.
* Introduce "pay-in-advance" billing option to the customers. Calculate the monthly average of a customer and offer 25% discount upon electricity bill for paying 6 months in advance. People who can afford to pay for 6 months in advance could be likely to utilize this option and generate needful revenue for the generation of electricity at the time of need.
