Sindh to raise force for CPEC's security

Pakistan's Sindh province on Monday decided to raise a special force for the security of the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), officials said.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the senior political and military officials in Karachi, the capital of Sindh, to review the overall security situation including the CPEC.

Several key projects in Karachi and other parts of Sindh province are part of CPEC, officials say. Last week the Chinese authorities agreed to include projects related to a railway service in Karachi, development of a port in Thatta district near Karachi and setting up of a special economic zone in CPEC.

The agreement was reached during the Joint Cooperation Committee on CPEC held in Beijing on Thursday. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah led his government delegation at the meeting.

The Mondays meeting in Karachi approved establishing a force comprising of 1,000 retired soldiers of the Pakistan Army for security of CPEC, provincial Advisor Maula Bakhsh Chandio, told reporters after the meeting.

The meeting also decided on a crackdown on street crime and drug mafia in Karachi, which is the commercial hub of Pakistan.

The meeting agreed to write to the federal government for the crackdown against illegal weapons, factories and shops.

The City Level Cirme can be reduced by few meassures

1- Converting neighbourhoods into Gated communities , which are patrolled by Private Security / Camera Survailence People who do not have home in community should not be allowed to enter. Unless they get a visitor pass at the Main gate/entrance point. Community is controlled by Camera (Neighbourhood level)

• Fence around community one entry point into neighbourhood

2- Private Security , works closely with Police Force for Escalations. Fast Response Units
Think of it like Sharif in USA. Security Units armed with light Guns

3- Police should be supplimented with Police Helicopters. 4-10 Police Helilcopters Armed for Air Support

4- Ban on Motor Cycles (After circular railways is completed)

5- Toll Booths with Cameras , so you can't get on main roads unless you swip your car ownership card or Driver Licence. When a robbery alert is issued the check post can play an active part to detect robbed cars

6- Same checkpost on Entrance point to Highway (Got unregistered /robbed car) you won't be able to get on Highway


Special Detective Force:

• Investigative Police Force for criminal investigation against high end targets & Gangs
• Also should be targetting kidnapping and ransom cases by setting up sting operations

CPEC Security:

• Security force covers the highways major Industrial zones
  
• Decicated Helicopters , Armed Officers in Helicopters
  
• UAV, Drones
• Light Armored Vehicles

• Taxi , Buses , Rickshaws need to all be registered or the vehicles should be confiscated

*Rangers Supplimental Force , remains in Military control used on need basis
