Shahbaz Base under PAF control

RAWALPINDI (APP) - Clarifying a report about the Shahbaz airbase, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry has said the base has already been under the control of Pakistan Air Force (PAF). In a statement issued here Thursday, the spokesman said that the report attributed to the Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar about the control of Shahbaz airbase was baseless.
“The defence minister has stated that the Shahbaz airbase was totally under PAF control and the US has not any control over it,” he said.

That is incorrect.

Shahbaz base does have SEVERAL american officials and the new F-16s ARE deployed there.

Shahbaz was developed by the americans and the sale of F-16s was made on the condition that they will be monitored
24/7 by the americans on ground and remotely.

I am confused with this whole Shamsi Airbase episode really ... Someone clarify it ... Didn't the CENTCOM say days earlier that there wasn't a single US soldier present on the airbase ?
