I didnt know such council existed but a good step taken by Turkish speaking people ...

There are interesting things going on some like these;

Yeh I also interested to deal with Turkey, but the Pan Turkestan ideology is.........

Pan-Turkism / Pan Turkestan is unreal. The only unity that is possible is something like the EU, SCO on grounds of economy, culture.... etc.

Turkey can be a small fish in European Union like America and many others want it to be. Or become a bigger fish on the world stage by establishing trade ties with everyone. This includes playing the larger role of peacemaker in Middle East.

Erdogan wants prestige for Turkey so he is improving ties within the African continent and Middle East. In that sense, there is nothing fascinating about Erdogan's plan. He is only expanding Turkey's reach and markets.

Brother, there is a war going on in Turkey? Is it World War I? :partay: :partay: :partay:
The average citizen simply does not care about his/her country being a regional peacemaker or a big fish.

Furthermore, the term "Middle Eastern peacemaker" is an oxymoron lol. This region will never see peace, so it's in Turkey's best interest to look westward.

Take a look at Finland. You might consider it to be a small fish in geopolitical terms, but the Finnish people won't give a damn because they happen to be living in one of the best countries in the world in terms of quality of life, living standards, education, tolerance, prosperity, etc. And in the long term, these are the things that will help make a country influential on the global stage, and help spread a country's sphere of influence. (In the long term, that is.)

There's no Western conspiracy against Turkey. The only people conspiring against Turkey right now are Erdogan and his cronies. They have done more damage to their country than any anti-Turkish foreign leader could have ever hoped for in history.

Turkey is indeed going through an identity crisis. Although most of the terrorists so far are foreigners but the menace is spreading into local Turks as well for e.g. killing of Russian ambassador. Govt itself just survived a major coup and now have started an unchecked crackdown on every second person who is against AKP. With all the crap happening around, Turkey has to react now else things will go really bad for them. One solution is to have re-election since regime change will obviously gonna help but even if Erdogan stands victorious again, he will only be having more legitimacy and general acceptance among masses and his opponents then just have to deal with it without any fuss. Despite of their Islamophobia, an unstable Turkey is not in the interest of Europe as well.

Whaen any government develops soft corner for any sort of terrorists and try to overlook the activities of certain type of Hazardous group, this will happen. Turkey must try very very hard to reach to the root cause of all this sort of attacks and devlop a zero tolerance strategy for any such people. Turkey is at a very typical juncture and can go either way. Turkey must try very hard to reverse the position of its old glory.

Europe is lurching to the right and you are not welcome reclaim your own identity and faith, grow your own strength, take on your enemies

We should reclaim our own faith ha? So we should embrace Tengrism again like before?

Pakistanis seriously think that secular people in Turkey are wannabe-Europeans, don't they? :D

The Secular people of this country are the ones who embrace Turkishness and they're very proud of their Asian roots on the other hand conservatives tend to worship Arabs because of İslam and that's the fundamental problem here.

Here that's my identity:

According to you we should embrace İslam and accept Arab culture, l know.

Religion here isn't important, the important thing is how you raise your countrymen as a whole.

Look where İslam brought us, in El-Bab Turkish soldiers are fighting against their own blood(Uyghurs,Özbeks,Kazaks etc) and the last terror suspect came from Kyrgyzstan.

Now blondeturkish guy here might be a provocateur but we should accept that some of the things he mentions is quite true.

The government tried to do a counterrevolution(to secularism) but in the end they messed up everything.

Every single policy whether internal, external, terror, economy policies collapsed.

Now from an outside perspective, Erdoğan and his party may seem perfect to you but you have no idea what kind of scandals this country went through in the last 14 years.

The only wrath Erdoğan and his ilk has brought is they have manage to raise expectations about Turkey for once. Hence, you get to form an opinion on Turkey. And not everyone wants to be sedate like Finland and Kuwait. Some want to be Qatar. :D

On a serious note, the point I made was that Erdoğan is expanding Turkey's reach and markets by extending its influence. If that means charity in Somalia, so be it. Or playing the role of peacemaker in MENA. These are moves one makes to gain influence on the world stage. And, again, one uses influence to extend markets and reach.

P.S. Don't hold your breath for too long in the hopes of Finland becoming a superpower. :partay: :partay: :partay:

@hussain0216 has a religious outlook on most things so you can't surmise what 200 million Pakistanis think from his comments. Just saying.

Everyone blaming Erdogan....as expected.

Didn't Turkish economy improved hugely under AKP govt? Turkish economy quadrupled, gdp tripled in last 12 years.

Turkish foreign policy regarding ME needs some improvement but blaming Erdogan for everything is a hypocrisy.

Turkey was irrelevant 15 years ago now it is a mini power at world stage. And under AKP rule.

Turkey pulled out the Cyprus operation over four decades ago despite facing sanctions. It fielded the strongest military force in the neighbourhood and was one of the most stabile and civilized countries with a muslim majority. Hardly irrivelant. As I explained previously the economy they built was like a sand castle and it barely effected the ordinary people. Of course we will blame Erdogan because its his policy that led to this current disaster. AKP started out well. With talks about equality and respect on all fields. They used Turkey's geographical and cultural state well to improve relationship with everyone. Then it all went downhill because his ego pierced through the ceiling. He ruined it all because he thought he could do anything he wants.

Thats what you want to believe.

Turkish GDP did not triple and Turkey is the laughing stock of the civilized world, thats how bad it is right now.
And no Turkey was never irrelevant and no Turkey is not a mini power at world stage. Turkeys foreign policy (read Erdogans foreign policy) has isolated Turkey and has done more damage to the countries reputation like nothing before since the foundation of the republic.

This government is a disgrace and is refusing to acknowledge any wrong doings.
