Thank you for agreeing with me. This thread should be moved elsewhere perhaps.

    The accident took place because

    1. A business tycoon (company) arranged it in the residential area without legal NoC. The police authorities were saying on media that they have given NO NoC.

    2. The companies who were involved in own publicity had not put security divider rather put just their cloth banners on both sides.

all in in all it was illegal activity and should be probed

Bahria Town Crash Puts Spotlight on Organisers

The Dawn Blog Blog Archive Bahria Town crash puts spotlight on organisers

a devastating shock for me....I didnt know the 4 fallen victims, but I know Majid and his Supra very well. Real tragedy.

we need proper racing facilities in Pakistan, for drift & for drag race 1000 meters

Disused Airstrips and salt planes..I am sure there must be salt planes in Pakistan...These two places are perfect for racing and used worldwide by racing enthusiasts who don't have access to Racing circuits.

Btw anybody knows of any update on Majid Supra case? He was arrested?
Although i have to praise his driving skills..The video of the Bahria town drag accident clearly shows wheels locking due to accidental over steer..Either he over steered due to loss of traction,as the road was duty,or he over steered due to loss of concentration while changing gear. But the evasive actions he took with locked wheels were impressive and only the most skilled can do that..
Its harsh to say this but people who were injured and died, contributed to their suffering,by ignoring all safety precautions..If the People were standing on the other side of the ditch..Nothing had happened.

considering he has over 600 horsepower to the wheels, and appears he was using only street tyres (instead of slicks) i'm sure he was spinning wheels through 3rd gear

he simply appears to have lost it and it careened to the side

as i am in US at the moment, i am not in touch with the 'lot' in twin cities and therefore i am relying on buddies @ Pakwheels for info and updates

considering 4 people were killed, I dont think he'll be back in the racing business anytime soon.....nor do i know what charges he may be facing. It was a sanctioned event.....most spectators were @ the starting line

some chose to be on side of the road which is never a smart thing to do when you have high performance cars going over 180-200 km/h

indeed a heart-breaker for me and many others

No barriers?no damn roll cages = recipe for disaster!

Note= From wat ive heard they chared rs 500 for the ticket to watch the drag race but mofos didnt even paay attention towards the safety of the people!
    Shame.......

Also i fear tht the dont ban motor sports coz the creeps are good at banning stuff instead of making it safe nd according to international standards of safety.

they probably will ban it for some time; but they did nationwide ban on wheelies ---anybody caught wheeling in cities like Lahore get rs 5000 chalan AND they get their bikes impounded AND they face jail time

that hasnt stopped anybody from doing it, especially on Sundays late night

best course of action is for provincial govt. to set aside funds for creating proper race facilities, with proper security and safety features, track staff etc.

having a daanda and making bans doesnt solve anything in Pakistan....all we need is a auto-cross course and a basic 1000 meter drag strip; surely they can allot some land for this and wont be so expensive

of course there are much bigger priorities at the moment, but still.....disasters like this could be averted

even with such measures, road safety will never be solved until there is more education and some common sense!

Actually the event was illegal the commissioner of Islamabad confirmed the Bahria town asked for the permission but it was never granted .It held event without any government permission.so the event was illegal.

Breaking News, Car Race Crash in Bahria Town, Islamabad

Organiser should have provided some safety for the people there.
I think the people responsible for this incident are the organiser and the driver taking part in illegal race.
All of them should be held acountable for the death of the children killed .

May the departed souls rest in peace and May Allah (S.W.T) give their familes the courage to bear the pain.
