LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution congratulating Malala on winning the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize.

The resolution was presented by the provincial law minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman.

It lauded Malala’s win and her efforts in raising her voice for girls’ education and stated that the provincial government will ensure all measures to continue its efforts for the provision of education for children.

Malala jointly won the Nobel Prize with India’s Kailash Satyarthi for their work promoting children’s rights on October 10.

Malala is the youngest person to be awarded the prestigious annual prize.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has congratulated teenage education campaigner Malala Yousafzai on winning the Nobel Peace Prize, calling her the “pride” of his country.

“She is (the) pride of Pakistan. She has made her countrymen proud. Her achievement is unparallelled and unequalled. Girls and boys of the world should take the lead from her struggle and commitment,” he said in a statement.

Malala Yousafzai — who survived being shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012 — was recognised for fighting for years for the right of girls to education, showing by example that children can contribute to improving their own situations.

“This she has done under the most dangerous circumstances,” the committee said.

“Through her heroic struggle she has become a leading spokesperson for girls’ rights to education.

How come there is no resolution about Indian Occupied Nobel?

Pakistani politicians should remember that "Azad Nobel" winner Malala is a CIA agent and saffron terrorist. Now this malala has brainwashed members of Punjab Assembly too. Its not a good sign. I see dark days ahead for Pakistan.
