Pakistan Army is the biggest devil and you Pashtuns should have nothing to do with it.

If you got nothing to contribute to the thread and topic in hand then quit increasing your posts count in this thread and refer to Pashtuns with respect. If your ancestors were Hindus and you are from Hindustan be proud of it because you are no Arab. Leave PA out of it, it’s a weak point to discuss and win an argument on.

On topic South Asia and the world knows about Pashtuns/afghans history, and is up there when it comes to some of the best group’s of people around world. Every pashtun knows that and carry these values when carrying out themselves anywhere in the world.

They were Turko-Afghans.........Turk by roots but Afghan by manners, customs and language. Jahan-nama by Najib Bakran , written in 1204 AD, contains an interesting paragraph ;

: "The Khalaj are a tribe of Turks who from the Khallukh limits migrated to Zabulistan. Among the districts of Ghazni there is a steppe where they reside. Then, on account of the heat of the air, their complexion has changed and tended towards blackness; the tongue (zuban) too has undergone alterations and become a different language (lughat)."

The different lughat they had adopted ,was in all probability Pashto which is spoken in Zabul nowadays. They were not considered Turks when they came to power in 1290. Contemporary historian Barani in his Tarikh-i-Feroz Shahi says;

"At the same time Jalaludin, who was Ariz-i-Mamalik , had gone to Baharpur , attended by a body of his relations and friends. Here he held a muster and inspection of the forces. He came of a race different from that of the Turks ; so he had no confidence in them , nor would the Turks own him as belonging to the member of his friends".

At another place he says "' and that by the death of Sultan Kaikoabad , 'The Turks lost the empire"

"

: "The Khalaj are a tribe of Turks who from the Khallukh limits migrated to Zabulistan. Among the districts of Ghazni there is a steppe where they reside." So basically they were turks but migrated to these areas that is modern day Afghanistan...I think Air, temperature and adopted to some culture or norms does not change ethnicity..

Before their expansion into India, the Khalji people were mainly concentrated in Turkestan. In the writings of Al-Biruni, Ibn-Batuta, Ibn-Khaldun, Al-Khwarezmi, Masudi, Varahamihira and in Hudud al-'alam, they are presented as a group of Turkic origin which formed one of the older members of the Hephthalite confederation, and included many nomads near Bactria (in Turfan) and east of modern Ghazni. Many migrated to various parts of Persia, including to parts of what are now Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, then under the control of the Ghaznavids....

They were domiciled in Afghanistan (land of Afghans, not the country) since ancient times .....Istakhari in 951 AD says "Khalj came to the region between India and Seistan during ancient times.".........Scholars say that these Khiljis in Zabulistan and surrounding areas were none other than hepthalites , the nomadic Iranic people akin to Turks who settled in Tukharistan and Zabulistan. Mohammd son of Ahmad Khwarazmi (980 A.D.) says: Khalj and Taraks of Kabjiya are the descendants of Hayatila who held great prestige in Tukharistan". This is confirmation of their hepthalite origin. Thats why Mahmud Kashghari (1074 A.D.), who wrote the famous dictionary of Turks, says " The ghuz of Turkmans comprise 24 tribes, but two Khaljiya tribes resemble the Turks are not considered Turks". This Turkish historian who has studied the Turks and even note their tribes, refrains from adding the name of Khalj with the Turks.

Thats why genetic studies of Ghiljis do not reveal them to be related to Turks but with R1a1 haplogroup. Note that in medieval sources (e.g Asrar-ul-Afghan) word "Ghilji" is used instead of more Pashtunized form "Ghilzai".....this word Ghilji is still used in Paktiya and Ghazni and other strongholds of Ghilzai tribes where middle dialect is spoken. Its obvious Khilji changed into Ghilji, and then into Ghilzai......or....... There are sub-tribes within Ghilzai who are not considered part of their lineage and they are considered of foreign extraction by true Ghilzais. These are Kharotis and Nasars.......these are most probably Khiljis assimilated into Afghans

Grave of Queen Bibi Abhai, wife of Sultan Owais of Swat, in Manglor. She was sister of Malik Ahmad Khan, the chief of the great Khashi confederation of tribes (Yousafzais and their kin) and was married to the Sultan of Swat. When Yousafzai settlements extended towards Swat, the Jehangiri Sultan of Swat, who had once friendly disposition towards the former, began to fear their growing power in his proximity. He summoned his counsel and on their advise, he brutally killed his wife , Bibi Abhai, with knife on the pretext that she might leak the details about ongoing affairs in Swat to her brother and her tribe. He buried her in Manglor (Swat). This triggered the invasion of Swat by Yousafzais...

Mian Tansen (c1493-1585), a prominent musician with legendary musical prowess and one of the nauratan (nine jewels) of Akbar, was disciple of the Afghan emperor Muhammad Adil Shah Sur. Adil Shah was one of the noted musicians of the time, and Baz Bahadur and Mian Tansen received their training from him.

Adil, popularly called Adali (means foolish) , was accustomed to life of singing and drinking and created great disorder by murdering his 12 year old nephew Feroz Shah Suri who had succeeded his father Islam Shah Suri (Adil's sister was married to Islam Shah and he himself was son of Nizam Khan, the brother of.Sher Shah).

The first Muslim dynasty of Kashmir was established by Swatis of Tajik-Afghan roots

By Khan Barmazid

The Swati Dynasty was a Muslim dynasty originally from Swat, who ruled on Kashmir for nearly 222 years from 1339 to 1561. Shah Mir Swati, an adventurer from Swat, under the title of Sultan Shamas-ud-Din founded the dynasty. He belonged to the ruling clan of Swat, the Gabaris who styled themselves "Sultans".

Gabaris were rulers and inhabitants of an extensive area comprising of Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Pakhli , Ashnaghar , Qarluq Hazara, and their sway extended in east as far as river Jehlum. They claimed descent from Sikander Zolqurnain (Cyrus the great) and were called 'Sultans'. The Sultan here do not refer to any monarch , it is a mere title by which the Gabari chief and their families were styled. Gabari Tajiks were Zoroastrians before acceptance of Islam and migrated to Swat in 1190 AD during the reign of Sultan Shahabuddin Ghauri. Their initial seat was Kunar under Sultan Pakhl which later shifted to Swat. They spoke Dari and Gabari (dialect of ancient Persian) at the time of invasion of Yousafzais. In 1399 they lost Kunar, Laghman and Kabul to Amir Timur. The Sultan Haider Ali of Bajaur who was defeated by Babur in 1519, belonged to the Gabari clan.

Swatis were divided into three great septs, Gabari, Mamiali and Mitravi of which the first claim to be Tajik, the Mamiali Yousafzai, and the Mitravi claims to be of Durrani origin. The Mamiali and Mitravi clans were called "Dihgaan"........When Yousafzais invaded Swat, the Mitravi clan of Swatis did not side with Sultan Awais (Gabari ruler of Swat). According to Khwaja Malezai (contemporary of Emperor Akbar), Mitravi clan of Swatis described themselves as descendants of Yousafzais who separated from the parent clan in Kandahar and migrated to Swat long before the arrival of Yousafzais in the region under Malik Ahmad.
