So if this is true why we are waiting for we already lost 30 years of non devlopment of our industrry and energy sector not a single dam is been made from last 43 years or soooo ... we have to push the paddle hard

come on man please build new dams and renewable energy projects besause they will only benefit pakistan because we will no longer depend on the middle east for expensive oil and gas. it will also generate new jobs and opportunities for our beautifull people inshallah

Indeed we have a greater potential in power secter.
Pakistan has ability to generate 40,000 mega watt electricity and NWFP
alone has the capacity to produce 25,000 mw electricity.
this was stated in a news yesterday about the Malakand Hydel Power Project.

Malakand hydro power project to become functional in January

ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (APP): Malakand hydro power project built at a cost
of Rs 6 billion would become functional in January next.
According to PTV report, 97% work on the project is completed and it
is expected that the hydro power project would generate 81 mega watt electricity, 10% of which would be used for the local industries which would generate employment opportunities.
Pakistan has ability to generate 40,000 mega watt electricity and NWFP
alone has the capacity to produce 25,000 mw electricity. Many sites in the
province are feasible and almost 4500 letter of interest had been issued in this regard.
The project would generate an income of Rs 15 million annually for
the province and would not only give boost to the agricultural activities in the area but will also improve electricity supply in the province. It would also give boost to the industries in the area.

Neo big dams had not been constructed but its also a good thing that we are doing so in terms of construtcing. And let the political situation of the country calm down we Inshallah will construct the big ones with consenus.

We should seriously consider doing something to adopt solar energy. We have vast swathes of land in Balochistan and Sindh where solar panels could be set up. Maybe inviting foreign firms to conduct feasibility study should be the first step.
