ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday sacked Secretary Defence Khalid Naeem Lodhi, DawnNews reported.
The prime minister revoked Lodhis contract and handed over the additional charge of secretary defence to Nargis Sethi.
The reasons reportedly cited for Lodhis sacking were his unlawful steps and violation of the rules of business.
Moreover, reports cited sources as saying that Lodhis actions led to miscommunication and misunderstandings between the states institutions.
In a related development, the army chief summoned an emergency meeting of the corps commanders.
Furthermore, DawnNews quoted sources as saying that Brigadier Sarfaraz Ali was appointed commander of the militarys 111 brigade.
