NIGERIAN AIR FORCE CHIEF CONFIRMS EXPECTED JF-17 DELIVERIES

Go ahead and don't forget that it was project which achieved those miles due to PAF participation and not just China .. Neither is the project purely Chinese or Chinese funded.

Any decision taken will be taken by both considered parties not internet Hawks.
I didn't know Pakistan had a wind tunnel to test the aircraft design. Mind telling me where it is located?

The MOST important point is that NAF will become a BVR capable Air force through induction of JF-17 with its SD-10/PL-12 missile.

NAF already flies F-7 fighter so most of the weaponry will be familiar. JF-17 could be used for ground attack role since Jaguar was retired long ago and Alpha Jet is filling ground attack duty.

The Nigerian Army uses Vickers (centurain ) Tank till now and probably a handful of AK could also make their way into the inventory.
I am thinking Nigeria might be more after a platform for delivering guided munitions in its war against BH. The starting order of 3 support the "low intensity" of the war and/or specialised role for the JF-17. flying two ship operations and one craft as back-up or in maintenance. The Apha jets will continue COIN operations with rockets and iron bombs but have JF-17 do high value pinpoint hits.

The air superiority role will gain importance later as BH gets defeated and more JF-17s are ordered.

Just my thoughts.

it's already materialized and Myanmar ordered 16 JF-17 worth $560 Million in 2015

they aren't using Aircraft
That will be a moment of pride for all of us. Good luck PAC and NAF.

I hope Myanmar contract never materializes. Our jets would be used for ethnic cleansing innocent unarmed Rohingya Muslims.

Nigeria should be our target country they have a good economy, excelent relation with paf and a huge need for 4th gen fighters we should lobby more heavily for more defence contracts in Nigeria they have a poor relation with both US and Russia

Myanmar should be checked for human rights violation..

It takes two hands to clap..we should check both sides of the story..Mayanmar vs Rohngya..Pakistan has done a lot for Rohngya even awarding them travel documents and passports...hundreds of them in Saudi with the infamous "red stamp" passport..and guess what ?? who do they hate the most? Pakistanis...I had a Burmese classmate..and he was awfully racist...while at the same time..spending his entire life on Pakistani red stamp passport...

Exactly, Rohingyas are not Pakistan's problem.
Let BD and Maynmar sort it out between themselves.
Pakistan is not in the position of the US to be dictating terms and putting sanctions on countries. We are only just entering the aircrafts manufacturing and export markets.
Lets not get carried away already.

You are arguing with a wannabe kid who has little to no understanding of the hardware in question or the foreign policies of the respective countries. He was adamant for a very long time that JF-17 would have no sales because China would instead market the LIFT L-15........

Actually yes. These airplanes were built for export, China will do what's in its best interest and Pakistan can't say a word

Apart from the fact that Pakistan holds a major chunk of proprietary and some IP rights in the aircraft, it would be a strange day when China deserts Pakistan to sell a handful of birds to Myanmar.

Page 12 here http://budgetoffice.gov.ng/pdfs/2017pro/FEDERAL MINISTRY OF DEFENCE.pdf has about $70m for "PLATFORM ACQUISITIONS (FOR COUNTER AIR, COUNTER SURFACE, AIR OPS FOR STRATEGIC EFFECT AND AIR SUPPORT OPERATIONS)". This could be adding to the $25m from last year:

And 3xJF-15 for $5M each + "only" 2xMI35...

There is no mentioning of JF-15 at all however, the payment mentioned in budget is an allocation as down-payment for 3 x JF-17 and rest of the amount will come as per the deal. See Post #58 to have a better idea.
