What's new

New pics of IAF SU30MKIs heading towards Red Flags 2008 Exercise

munir , SU 30MKI is a multi role aircraft which can be used in A2G operation also

Nitesh,

You say I have no depth. And here you say that sending your airsuperioty top end MKI as a bomber in the top world training without using radar or doing a2a is normal? It is like sending A10 to DACT. Hardly any value....

TJ, having some friends in the air is a more realistic source then reading oneliners that are kind of personal attacks. Last time I talked to a technician he was suprised about the checks I knew about a standard pylon... I do not have to prove myself to Nitesh.

Meh, I'll take the F-15 anyday over that bird. They're gorgeous no doubt.

Mere bhai, can't you understand a simple thing that SU 30 MKI is a multirole fighter and can be used as a bomber when needed. Don't take it too personally.

I am not taking it serious cause you said in your own words : "If I have depth" but let us skip it.

On the other hand it is amazing that Russian superjet, with Israeli super avionics is here to do some real ground workd with latest American Sniper... Is it because they can use it in attack against Pakistan? Cause it is the best multi-role plane the Indians have it can do lots of damage with a2g when attacking Pakistan. So with hundreds of MKI's flying towards Pakistani airfields and with sniper it would mean a difficult attack to coounter without nuclear retaliation...

So what's the harm in it? Is that they are practicing something? Don't even think of nuclear war my dear. It is not going to be good for anybody.

Well, Indian airforce is not comparable to say arab airforce. They do have planes and pilots and if needed they wil go al the way to learn new tactics. But it is amazing to see target pod attached to MKI... I am not fan for big planes in a2a but the MKI would be the spitfire during ww2 when it comes to ordnance and range... There is nothing in PAF hands that can do the same. Say 200 MKI is a formidable force, certainly if used in a2g.

Somehow they did make a mistake with LCA but then again if it is just learning then you can go down the road... We will see how well it will become.

But i does amaze... MKI with sniper...

Looking at the pictures of Su-30 cockpit, it seems that the backseater of MKI also has a HUD. The amazing thing is that the front view of the backseater in MKI is not blocked by the front seater because the backseater is sitting higher than the front seater. (Like some Gunship helicopters)

In F-15E and F-16D and Mirage-2000D, the backseater has no forward view.

The presence of HUD for the backseater means that he can do much more as compared to the backseaters of F-15E,F-16D, F/A-18D etc.

A well-designed aircraft by Russians and well-chosen by Indian Air Force.

Nice pics. In the second one of the ADA, the Rafale is parked next to an IAF MKI..good stuff.

The A2G role indicates that India is treading cautiously. The value of this exercise seems to be more diplomatic than tactical.
