ISLAMABAD: Federal Minster for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid, said that government will soon establish a new campus of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) in Gawadar.
Federal Minster for Science and Technology made these remarks during a meeting with the Chief Minister Balochistan Dr.Abdul Malik on Friday .
Highlighting the importance of the CIIT Gawadar Campus the Minister said that market oriented disciplines would be taught to the students like Marine sciences, Geo physics, Information Technology, Management Sciences and Oceanography. He reiterated the commitment of the government and said that development in the field of science and technology was the top priority of the present government.
The CIIT campus at Gawadar will provide a quality education to the students of Balochistan in their own province, the Minister added. He also offered scholarships for the Students of Balochistan at the CIIT main campus at Islamabad.
Dr. Abdul Malik readily accepted the offer and expressed his gratitude to Mr. Zahid Hamid and the federal government for opening campus of this prestigious institute in Gawadar which will definitely go a long way in the economic prosperity of the people of Balochistan.
The Chief Minister thanked the Minister for the generous offer and said that the Government of Balochistan would provide land and other facilities to materialize this noble idea of the federal government at the earliest
Dr. Junaid Zadi, Rector CIIT and senior officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology were also present in the meeting.
