Moog Space and Defense Group has developed and tested the Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform (RIwP), designed to be installed on newbuild tracked and wheeled armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs) to enhance their firepower.

The RIwP has a dual-axis stabilised base platform, which in its baseline model is provided with ballistic protection to 7.62 mm M80 ball standard but can be increased to provide protection against attack from the Russian 14.5 mm KPV machine gun (MG) with an appliqué armour package.

Traverse is all electric through 360° with elevation from -10 to 60°.

Changing the weapons system typically takes 30 min, according to Moog, allowing the end user to tailor the weapon fit for the particular mission.

The company has shown an example fitted with a 5.56 mm MG, Orbital ATK Armament Systems 30 mm M230LF low-recoil cannon, and a Raytheon/Lockheed Martin Javelin anti-tank guided weapon (ATGW).

The many other weapons combinations that can be fitted include: .50 M2 HB MG with 40 mm MK19 automatic grenade launcher; .50 M2 HB MG with twin-tube TOW launcher; 30 mm MK44 dual-feed cannon with 7.62 mm M240 MG; .25 mm M242 dual-feed cannon with 7.62 mm M240 MG; dual TOW missile launcher with 7.62 mm M134 MG; and 30 mm M230LF cannon with dual Hellfire missile launcher.

Under-armour loading is possible for the MGs, 40 mm AGL, and 30 mm M230LF cannon, although missiles can only be reloaded under partial cover of the vehicle's hatch.

The sensor pack is currently provided by Leonardo subsidiary DRS Technologies. It is fully stabilised to enable targets to be engaged with a high first-round hit capability while on the move.

A computerised fire control system is fitted and the eye-safe laser rangefinder is accurate to 3 km.

Eight 76 mm Wegmann-type electrically operated grenade launchers can be fitted and these can fire various types of lethal and non-lethal grenades.

AFAIK ML230 30mm caliber is not 30x173mm like a10 thunderbolt . This gun has caliber 30x110mm. It is APACHE's gun.

Fires M789 HEDP and NATO standard 30 mm ADEN/DEFA projectiles. Where did you find any claim it was 30x173?

There wasnt claim. It was my little info. No offense. Keep calm.
A lot of people confuse 30mm calibers.

I am shocked with that how russians can put every where their 30x165mm.
APACHES cant fire 30x173mm but Russian helis can fire 30x165mm.

A lot of Russian land vehicles even BMD which weights 7-8 tons can fire.
There some Russian 4x4s with 30x165mm.
Interesting.

HIGHer velocity gives projectile a flatter trajectory and makes for greater accuracy.
I'ld rather have 25mm KBB than 30mm Aden/Defa

Russians have tended to go for slower projectiles with heavier explosive content, relative to e.g. US and CH.

Boeing ASP-30 (automatic self-powered 30mm cannon)

It is designed as an upgrade 12.7 mm (0.50 calibre) M2 HB machine gun and 40 mm Mk 19 high velocity grenade launchers mounted on armoured vehicles. When equipped with a soft recoil cradle it can also be mounted on the standard M3 heavy machine gun tripod for use in the ground fire suppression role.

lol a moog modular had me thinking of:
Same here! (you get that with old folks ;-)

Term refers to any number of analog synthesizers designed by Robert Moog or manufactured by Moog Music, and is commonly used as a generic term for older-generation analog music synthesizers. The Moog company pioneered the commercial manufacture of modular voltage-controlled analog synthesizer systems in the mid 1960s. The Moog synthesizer gained wider attention in the music industry after it was demonstrated at the Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967.
