GARHI KHUDA BAKHSH: Speaking at the Bhutto mausoleum to mark Benazir Bhutto's death anniversary on Saturday, former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari vowed that the misuse of military courts will not be allowed.
He said the PPP will only accept military courts when it is proven that they are not being used politically. On the other hand, Zardari admitted that there is a need for military courts under the prevailing situation in the country.
The PPP co-chairman was referring to the current law and order situation emerged against the backdrop of deadly Taliban attack on an army-run school in Peshawar that killed 150 people, mostly children.
"We will support military courts when we are sure they will not be used against a democratic party, a journalist or an intellect," said Zardari.:undecided:
While commenting on the Peshawar school attack, he claimed that if notice was taken when 450 PPP workers were killed in 2007 during General Musharraf's regime, the massacre at Army Public School would not have occurred. He added that the operation against terrorism should have been initiated back then.
Zardari also stated that the party does not understand where the difference between 'good Taliban' and 'bad Taliban' lies.
"We need to know who we are fighting against, ever since Ziaul Haq's regime fighting is all we have done and we will not be afraid of any evil forces," Zardari added. "We will continue fight for the rights and for this country to make it powerful so that the future generations can live in improved times."
Brushing aside reported friction between PPP-P president Makhdoom Amin Fahim and the party leadership, he said Fahim had never been a traitor and would not be one in future also.
While dismissing reports of his differences with his son due to Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's absence at the congregation, Zardari explained that rumours are being circulated by competitors.
Bilawal unlikely to attend Benazir’s death anniversary:disagree:
Previously at the gathering, PPP party leaders explained that due to poor health Bilawal was advised against travelling by doctors, which is why he was out of the country. Security threats were also cited for Bilawal's unexpected absence at his mother's death anniversary.
Benazir’s killers will be tried in military courts: Khursheed Shah
Meanwhile, Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah told reporters in Sukkur that the killers of Benazir Bhutto will be tried in military courts.

Paying rich tribute to the former prime minister, he said that democracy in the country has been made possible by the sacrifices rendered by Bhuttos.:hitwall:

“Let there be no doubt that the nation is enjoying the fruit of democracy because Benazir Bhutto struggled for the rule of law and true democracy in the country,” he added.

Replying to another question, Shah said that the decision of forming military courts was taken with a heavy heart. The Taliban attack on Peshawar’s Army Public School has united the entire nation, said the PPP leader, adding that the country is still mourning for the children who were killed in the heinous attack – APP

bilawal is advised to not to talk or appear on media due to poor mentsl health. Bhutto democracy... lol.

So.. what he's demanding is actually is selective justice... otherwise, no reason to dispute army courts.

The point that Military courts should not be misused is correct and pretty obvious to everyone - unfortunately, PPP is trying to milk this point and the Peshawar tragedy to gain some political ground and possibly a little public support.
While commenting on the Peshawar school attack, he claimed that if notice was taken when 450 PPP workers were killed in 2007 during General Musharraf's regime, the massacre at Army Public School would not have occurred. Here's some more of that 'milking' I was talking about; 'should have' 'would have', pretty typical way of blaming others and making yourself look good to the uneducated masses. Fact of the matter is that it was Zardari's term during which the highest levels of terrorist activity - If only he'd taken initiative instead of sitting on his arse and blaming Musharraf (who admittedly did make mistakes).

This part made me feel a little sad, that an entire family's name has been hijacked like that. ZAB and BB, however incompetent or mistaken they were, were at the very least actual leaders deserving a little respect. Zardari, on the other hand, is a parasitic leech, fooling people with the Bhutto name and sucking the nation's blood.

And now by pushing their agenda into this matter and messing with the military in such a crucial time, they've destroyed their own reputation even further. They've not got much to lose in that area anyways.

But the main vibe over here is that they're getting increasingly desperate, PPP lost a lot of ground recently and now Bilawal, their purported 'poster boy', has undermined them from the other side. Whatever the hell he's into, its not good for whatever's left of PPP's reputation - the once esteemed People's party is dying. However, there is a little chance it survives if some of the rumours regarding Bilawal turn out to be true. If he really is opposing Zardari on moral grounds and trying to take initiative, that is.

God help Pakistan.

No one will even care if they hanged u mr 10%

It's because Zardari knows that a lot of cases are on him and in any single case he can be hanged.

What exactly is the misuse in these courts?

I tell ya, these politicians are scared sh!tless, had they been really innocent they would have to fear anything. Tells a lot about their innocence now.
