Military Helicopters Designs

My favorite attack helicopter is the AH-64 Apache by far... (Maybe it has something to do with KSA having 94 of those I don't know lol). Here is some details pics on it:

One thing i have noticed is that Russian designs [Mi 8,Mi 26] etc stresses on wide clamshell doors and narrow sidedoors,while US designs with tailrotors [Blackhawk,Huey] tends to have wider side doors.

I believe ,a cross between both will be the best. As of Now ,Russian side doors are 1 window wide,while US side doors are 3 to 4 windows wide. Why can't Mi 17 have 2 to 3 windows wide side doors?
