One news channel reported that ISRO's PSLV C-19 (XL) to launch high resolution microwave remote sensing satellite RISAT-1 next month. This is the second Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging satellite from ISRO. It will significantly enhance Indian armed forces capability.

Radar Imaging Satellite (RISAT) is a microwave remote sensing satellite carrying a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)

The satellite weighing around 1850 kg is slated for launch by PSLV-C19(XL) during 2011 into a 536 km orbit with 25 days repetitivity with an added advantage of 12 days inner cycle for Coarse Resolution ScanSAR mode.

this is good we will be able to see enemy strategic installations and will increase IMINT i say we produce spy satellites by the dozens for RAW/IB army air force navy etc we should work jointly with Israel on radar imaging development

Good News 1 of the day. Hope it will be more better than Risat-2.

the trajectory is more importannt that both Risat 1 & 2 do scan one by one
