London police starts investigation against Altaf Hussain

ISLAMABAD: Hundreds of British and Pakistani citizens have made complaints against MQM chief Altaf Hussain, after which the London metropolitan police has started investigation against him, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Adam Thomson said on Wednesday.

According to Adam Thomson, against the recent statement of Altaf Hussain, London metropolitan police had received hundreds of complaints from British and Pakistan citizens.

Thomas said to the newsman that London police is independent to investigate the complaints and is under no pressure from the UK government. “Altaf Hussain’s statement must be taken seriously, because under British laws promoting hatred and violence is liable to punishment”, he added.

However, it has been observed that Altaf had completely denied making such statements.

“Pakistan and United Kingdom have no formal extradition treaty”, said the British High Commissioner.

Although, Altaf’s dispersion was possible but there were legal complications associated with the process, he added.

LONDON: The Metropolitan Police said Wednesday that they were aware of complaints made about MQM chief Altaf Hussain, but currently there was no investigation.



A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said complaints were still being made.

Earlier, Britain’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Adam Thomson said the country should take serious notice of Altaf Hussain’s statement regarding separating Karachi from Pakistan.

Media is trying to twist it - It's not just about detaching Karachi the major part was he threaten to kill people who were protesting against rigging and media is complete omitting this, before that he spewed hate against Punjab. This b@stard must be fed to insects.

I don't think anything will come out of this. If they wanted to.. they would have taken action against Altaf Hussain long time ago. But..there must be more to it than meets the eye. Didn't Imran Khan try to file a case few years ago against AH in London? & more recently I remember one Zulfiqar Mirza was to provide suitcase full of evidence to Scotland yard & house of lords. Did anything come out of it?
