MQM?s senior activist shot dead - DAWN.COM

KARACHI, July 7: A senior activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead in North Karachi on Sunday night.

According to police, 45-year-old Azhar Ayub was shot and wounded by armed motorcyclists. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Azhar was joint in-charge of MQM’s Unit-137 in North Karachi, a police officer said.

Slain Muttahida Quami Movement activists Abdul Wahab and Mohammad Rafique of the Liaquatabad and Baldia Town sectors unit were buried in the graveyards of Yasinabad and Baldia Town on Sunday. Many moving scenes were observed on the occasion. The funeral prayer of Abdul Wahab was offered at Masjid-e-Quba Bindhani Colony after Namaz-e-Zohar. Mohammed Rafique’s funeral prayer was offered at Tajalli-e-Noor Masjid Baldia Town.

MQM Central Coordination Committee members Adil Khan and Yousuf Shahwani participated in the prayers.c
