On July 6 the Lithuanian state flag and the Lithuanian historical flag will be flown in Simonas Daukantas Square, Vilnius, in commemoration of State Day of Lithuania by troops representing the Lithuanian Land Force, Air Force and Navy.
The event will be conducted in attendance of President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, Speaker of the Seimas Loreta Graužinienė, Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas, Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lieutenant General Jonas Vytautas Žukas, and other members of the Seimas, national defence system, and soldiers of the current U.S. rotation in Lithuania.
Prior to the flag hoisting ceremony President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė will mark State Day of Lithuania by giving state awards for merits to the Republic of Lithuania and glorifying the name of Lithuania. State awards will be presented to Lithuanian soldiers, Lithuanian guerrillas who had fought for Lithuania’s freedom and members of the anti-Soviet resistance.
