An Arab team won Jordan's Warrior competition for the first time when Lebanon's Black Panthers beat 26 other teams.

Run by Jordan's King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre (KASOTC), the 8th Annual Warrior Competition ran from 2-6 May.

Colonel Ahmed Kaiber, the commandant of KASOTC, told IHS Jane's that this year's activities had been adjusted to make them more realistic.

Noting that the Black Panthers regularly participated in the competition, Col Kaiber added, "I was surprised by the Lebanese team's high level of professionalism and its ability to operate as a team."

A Russian counterterrorism team won in 2015 and China's Snow Leopard police commando unit won in 2014.
