India test fires medium range K-5 ballistic missile from underwater platform in Bay of Bengal - The Economic Times

So, are they wrong on both the name (K-15) as well as the range... or is this really a missile different from K-15?
No its K-15 only :) K5 will be an SLBM version of AGNI-6 which is under development :) and regarding range its above 1500Km for a payload of 250KG and below, but officially for payload of 1000KG range is 700 Km :)

Nope! That's the underwater pontoon/launcher! :azn: Not a gas turbine of a ship!!

...except that the K-15 launcher in this picture does not look anything like the one posted before.

The one you posted before IS the outer casing of a gas turbine engine. It doesn't have an opening like
this one does on top, go iron out the differences yourself.

India test fires medium range K-5 ballistic missile from underwater platform in Bay of Bengal

NEW DELHI: Moving a step closer to completing its nuclear triad, India today successfully test fired a ballistic missile, with a strike range of around 1500 kilometres, from an underwater platform in Bay of Bengal.

"The medium range K-5 ballistic missile was test fired successfully today from an underwater pontoon and all parameters of the test firing were met," DRDO chief V K Saraswat told PTI from the undisclosed test area.

Nuclear triad is the ability to fire nuclear-tipped missiles from land, air and sea.

Saraswat said that the development phase of the K-5 missile, which is a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM), was over and it was now ready for deployment on various platforms including the indigenous nuclear submarine INS Arihant which is under development.

I think Economic Times is wrong. It must be K-15 as reported by The Hindu

K-15 Missile test fired successfully - The Hindu

It's K-5 or K-15? :undecided:

No, it's K-15. India hasn't even test fired K-4 yet(will soon). So I don't know how these journalist are so stupid to title it K-5.

I Guess the best Logic as per the following Text :

Saraswat said that the development phase of the K-5 missile, which is a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM), was over and it was now ready for deployment on various platforms including the indigenous nuclear submarine INS Arihant which is under development.

Suggests, That K15 has been some how renamed as K5 ( Just a Wild Guess Though ).
