PAF should opt for the J-10s instead of F-16s. Recently in an excercise three F-16s were pitted against a single F-22 and all three F-16s were shot down. This shows the standard of the F-16s at present. PAF should find something to fight against fighters like F-22 of the US. If it means the development of a stealth version of the J-17, let it be so. PAF should have at least one squadron of fighters to counter threats like the F-22s.

Dude! Do you seriously believe that J-10 will hold infront of the F-22?:disagree:
PAF has the option for the J-10, but it is still evaluating the development that is taking place within the J-10. Untill then we will have to stay with the F-16s not to forget that the block that we are getting i.e block52 it is much ahead of the J-10 which is considered equivalent to the block-40 at present.

According to the interviews and press conferences by the PAF ACM the following things have been made public:

1. JF-17 will be equipped with latest avionics, equipment and constantly upgraded to meet future PAF requirements.

2. JF-17 airframe modifications to increase its capabilities (air superiority fighter)

3. air superiority J-10 fighter (not much is known about J-10s and I guess we will never know because of the secrecy involved)

With additions like AEW, AESA, MICA, air-to-air refueling and all the other modifications I can safely say that the J-10s and JF-17s have enough capabilities to meet any challenges. IMO, the role of these aircrafts is to defend airspace and they are capable of doing that. :partay:

What is it that makes the F-22 invincible, thrust vectoring or the stealth feature ? All these features can be added to its possible adversary. It's not that no plane can match the F-22, it's just that nobody has seriously thought of producing one like F-22 because of the cost attached to it.

its like P4 vs Core 2 Duo. Both can outshine each other in their own way.

Well, added you say to an adversary plane...............Projects like the F-22 took decades to mature and become viable, rising as offshoot of the various other fighter like F-15's, F-18's and F-16's that entered service in 1970's. The Raptor project reprtedly began in the late 70's, took in billions in funding and the best minds in the business. Russia was never a pioneer in air warfare, China is only emerging................The makers of the Raptor right now stand as brightest team!

It took US chip makers decades to design the chips that we use today, yet within few years Japan and South Korea copied the US chips and came up with in some cases even better chips. Those who first invent something , they face the most difficult hurdle for they start from scratch, on the other hand, those who come later they simply modify the existing technology so it takes them much less time to catch up. It took the US decades to develop the F-22 for they had to deal with completely new technology, those who are going to develop the same type of fighters do not have to face the same level of challenge for the technology is no longer new.

Sticking to the F22, it aint easy to copy either!;)

lol, you can't go to your local electronics shop and buy a fighter jet. No country except the US has access to the F-22 Tech.

:pakistan:nice to see copy of F22 .is it foto copy of images of F22 i think pakistan get F22 RAPTER in 2070 .when US may be go for star wars:enjoy:

:cheesy:

Sure an aircraft made in a 3rd world country (no offence meant )can take on the Raptor. Please spend the money on more pressing issues.

Well to tell you the truth it also had to do with the type of pilots flying the airplane. The pilots who fly F-22 are the best in USAF. They practice a lot and better academically than other pilots. :pakistan::pakistan:

if pakistan procures j10's and incorporates western avionics on it,...which fighter jet will it bring par with?
