Guys, I am new here. Just back from a indian forum, ppl there praise LCA so much. Most of them have opinion that LCA is a better fighter than J10. What I think is, when LCA will come into service, it has been developed for hell long already. Tell me how you guys think.
 
LCA has yet to get an edge from the JF-17, let alone J-10. One can create an aircraft and claim it to be an stealthy and world most advance fighter, but if it never gets operatational. There is no point speaking of it.
 
Obvious LCA won't be the most advance fighter in the world, I even doubt how much stealthy ability it has. Some people claim that LCA has a better avonic system than J-10. Since I don't know much about avonic system, I don't know if it is true or not. does any news about when LCA will be come into service? As a chinese, i think when LCA come out, J-13 or J-14 might be completed already.
 
To be honest this whole discussion is moot until there is actually an operational aircraft to discuss. And take everything you read with a pinch of salt. Bear in mind that national pride often plays a waaaaaaay too big a part in any discussion about south Asia.

The name MiG-33 was used twice. Once for a single engined light strike fighter intended to be a direct competitor of the F-16, and more recently for the heaily upgraded version of the MiG-29.

The first design of a very light new-generation fighter was prepared by Mikoyan in the early 1980s, when design work also began on the heavy fighter, the MFI (sometimes known as the 1-42). The result was 'Product 33' powered by a single RD-33 engine from the MiG-29. It was of conventional design, appearing similar to the US Lockheed Martin F-16.

Although work on Product 33 became well advanced, it was not ordered due to the air force's reorientation towards multi-role aircraft - the lightweight Product 33 could be used for close air combat only. The basic Product 33 design was offered by Mikoyan to China as the FC-1 fighter.

So basically it wasn't rejected cause the AF wanted an air craft to play dual roles. But now the air-craft holds no similarity to the MIG-33, it's a totally new air-craft.
