That is a very limitied view of regional politics and Pakistan you have dear. Pakistan as a country has far bigger challenges to meet than being assigned the only task of spreading wahabism like you proclaim as if we are sitting in the land of fairy tale where money grows on trees. By the way, the same wahabism you staunchly attack is a byproduct of your own Indian institutes aka "Deoband".

    1. Well, you can't deny that a power struggle and a struggle for domination of the Muslim world has been going on for many decades now between radical Sunnis and radical Shias. The principle protagonists in this drama have been Saudi Arabia and Iran. Pakistan has been firmly in the Saudi camp. This was one of the main reasons for the Saudis financing the Afghan Mujahideen and recognising the Mullah Omar govt. while opposition to Soviet rule in Afghanistan was a reason, the bigger reason was to neutralise the growing Shia influence further west in Lebanon, Syria etc. Pakistan govt permitting its ex-servicemen to go and fight against Shia protesters in Bahrain is a case in point. I have heard many Pakistanis say that the GOP has little say in retired people visiting foreign countries to participate in mercenary activities, but this is not so. If the activities of these people is contrary to the government foreign policy and if they embarrass the GOP or harm Pakistani interests, then the GOP has every right to deny them permission to travel abroad. Obviously, there is tacit approval at the highest levels.

    I know that.

How does India fit into this?

While some of the statements made by the Iranian official are true, I doubt if India's intentions are the same as that of the US.

Iran has never threatened India or vice versa.

Misleading title I'd say. Way to fail Lankan Ranger

This whole problem started because Pakistan invited USA into this place by sucking upto them and now they are paying the bill, simple as that.

I don't think the Pakistanis really had a choice in the matter. It was either with the US or against them, remember words of GW Bush?
Could Musharraf have given the finger to the Americans? Especially right after 9/11 when international sympathy was with them? It is easy to blame Mushy for all the mess but did he really have a choice? Pakistani nuclear deterrence is meaningless against USA, they were threatened to be bombed back to stone age if they failed to cooperate, which was a very real possibility, so they gave in.
Pakistanis are very proud of their geo strategic location. I think it is their curse as it attracts attention of all manners of unsavory characters like the Soviets, Americans or Chinese to their immediate neighborhood each of whom bring their own brand of instability to Pakistan.

maybe the US should have done drone bombing and that **** they today do in pakistan? as we know, all the pilots were saudis and so was OBL. but nooo, we all know the capatilast dogs wont attack a a country thats licking their ***. and pakistan should have told the US to "**** off" of when 9/11 happened. look what their so called war on terror has done to our country. pakistan has suffered much more then the little 9/11 americans still cry about.

Pakistan does not need to have a MILITARY PRESENCE in Afghanistan, GENIUS.

We have Taliban who are citizens of Afghanistan.
