Indeed, if we compare the figures with those of last year, the number of European visitors tripled in the first half of 2014 and estimates for the second half are optimal.

According to data from the Tourism Minister of Iran, tourism in Europe increased by 240%, an increase which is related to the election of President Hassan Rouhani, last year.

Iran has been visited by nearly 1.49 million tourists, a higher number than the Iranians who visit other countries (1.4 million). A first since last 35 years , ever since the Islamic Revolution Iran!

Iran has about 17 places on the official UNESCO list of World Heritage, one of the most represented countries in the world!

Places to visit, however, are many and different from each other: Persepolis in Bam, Qom in Mashhad, not to mention the extraordinary landscapes of mountains and desert.

Those masjids are in excellent condition. I wish we Pakistanis could boast such protected heritage sites.
